TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No it’s…Teacher Appreciation Week! We are planning a week of activities to celebrate our
super teachers at St. Columbkille School! Listed below are descriptions of what the HSA has planned for each day
and how you can help. These activities are purely optional for families, and you are certainly not limited in how you
want to show the teachers your appreciation this week. Thank you in advance for however you choose to participate!
Monday May 1st
WHAT’S YOUR TEACHER’S SUPERPOWER?
All superheroes have a unique superpower! Beginning Monday, we would like families to take a moment to
write a
note to teachers AND staff members. We have included a “What’s Your Teacher’s Superpower?” template for you to
use if you'd like! If students choose this option, the “burst” will be attached to the teacher’s door. Or, feel free to
send an email, make a card, or come up with your own unique way to say “THANKS!" Notes can be sent to the school
all week long and delivered by your children. The office will also deliver them if they come in the morning envelope.
Tuesday May 2nd
SUPERCHARGED TUESDAY!
The HSA will be providing a supercharged breakfast for the teachers and staff! Students…give your teachers a
SUPER burst of energy by
wearing your HOMEROOM teacher’s favorite color (see below). Students may wear a colored
shirt with their uniform bottoms.
Wednesday May 3rd
POWER FOODS SNACK CART…FOR SUPER STRONG SUPERHEROES!
Back by popular demand...we are asking families to
send in donations of snack items or beverages on Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesday morning (or any day this week if you prefer). Label the items “teacher appreciation” or bring them
directly to the office. We will be rolling a snack cart around to the classrooms in the afternoon to provide treats
to the teachers and staff! Ideas for snacks include baked items, fresh fruit, individual-sized packages of chips,
single serving containers of pop or other fun beverages.
Thursday May 4th
PICK YOUR SUPER GIFT!
We are asking that your family
sends in a gift card to be distributed to our teachers. We recommend around $5-
$10 to any store, restaurant, or coffee shop (consider using CARE as your gift card supplier after mass this
weekend so the school can benefit, too). THIS IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL! Please put gift cards in an envelope
labeled "teacher appreciation" and we will hand them out to our deserving staff on Friday!
Friday May 5th
BAM! POW! ZAP! SUPER FUN FRIDAY!
Fly to St. Columbkille in your favorite superhero shirt! Students and staff may wear a “superhero themed” shirt with
JEANS, ATHLETIC pANTS OR UNIFORM BOTTOMS. To celebrate the end of the week, the HSA will be catering in a lunch from
Ming’s Chinese Restaurant for the teachers and staff.
