This week Grade 9 will review the six
elements of short stories (setting,
character, plot, conflict, POV, and
theme) and continue to apply them to
this week’s shared reading story, “To Daduh, in Memoriam.” Students will also
compose two creative, thoughtprovoking narrative essays: one in class
and one at home. Additionally, students
are expected to practice their given
reading every night and complete the
relevant exercises to practice
vocabulary, critical thinking, and writing
responses.
Begin your graphic organizer for
the essay topic, “Kids These
Days” (Imagine you are 70 years
old. Describe what bothers you
about today’s teenagers and
why. ) Reread “To Da-duh, in
