“Being kind to the poor is like lending to the Lord; he will reward
you for what you have done.”
PROVERBS 19: 17
When you take food to the poor, that’s an act of worship. When you give a
word of kindness to someone who needs it, that’s an act of worship. When you
write someone a letter to encourage them or sit down and open your Bible with
someone to teach them, that’s an act of worship.

There are only 18 days le+ unl the beginning of Advent! One
of the best mes of the Chrisan Year, this season brings the
looks, sounds, music, smells and feeling of Christmas as we ancipate the birth of the Christ child. There will be tradional
trappings of Navity, Advent Wreath, garlands, wreaths and
banners. Songs that we have heard from our childhood will be
played and sung. But there could be more. Yes! There really
can be more!
Do you play an instrument? Volunteer to play with the choir or as a solo. Do you sing? Sing
for us. Are you part of a small band? Invite them to celebrate in music with us. Liturgical
Dance? Art? Dramac reading? All can have a place in this beauful season.
Please let me know if you would like to do something. There are four Sundays and Christmas Eve where your gi+s would be welcome. And if we have enough, we might even throw
together an evening of Christmas joy.

It is time for Mikes Kids!
The banana boxes are ready to be filled. Check with your kids, your neighbors,
your grandkids for gently used clothing that has been outgrown. Buy a package or 2(or 10) of new socks or underwear and bring them on in. Right now we
have thirteen banana boxes. Let’s not only fill those up, let’s overflow them!
Remember, we need new or gently used clothes, new socks and underwear and
toys. All are appreciated.

A Sprite
Part 3
As the tears ran down Cymbol’s face and dripped onto the
dirt beneath her, something started to happen. The earth
beneath her changed. No, it didn’t just change to mud, which is a normal
and expected reaction of dirt and water, but instead, the very color and texture changed. Suddenly, there wasn’t dirt there at all, but color! All the colors of the rainbow! They swirled and spun, like a dance. Oh it was a beautiful sight! And instead of feeling, well, dirty (which is what dirt feels like!),
there was a light fluffy feel, a weightlessness covered in warmth. Nothing
like little Cymbol, tired ol’ Sprite that she was, had ever felt. What was this,
she wondered? Why is this happening?
And then, she saw the most amazing thing. There were angels, thousands of
them! They were what made the dance of color and warmth. They were
singing, and the music filled Cymbal’s soul and from the tips of her tiny feet
to the tops of her tiny ears, she filled up with the music of the angel’s voices.
What a glorious feeling! The angels came and surrounded her and she felt
them say, “come, come and share in the good news Cymbol, for here is the
one that can guide you, come.” So, she shook out her wings (which felt
amazingly refreshed) and went with them.
Down they flew, dipping and swirling, and the feeling of joy that surrounded them grew! Cymbol didn’t know what was happening, but she knew
that she wanted to keep being part of it. Oh yes she did! This was wonderful! This was rejuvenation, invigoration, joy, and oh so appreciated by this
tired little Sprite.
And then, Cymbal stumbled for a second in her flight…something wasn’t as
it normally was…something was different. She was different. What was it?
Why was she being lifted and carried by the angels?
What was happening to Cymbal? What was the good news that she was being invited to share? What did it all mean?
