This week we covered the VCCV Word patterns, Regular and Irregular Verbs, and the characteristics of Informative Writing.
Literature:
We started with a new selection from our Journey’s textbook Lesson 10 “Cougars”. We covered
the Vocabulary Words ,Reading Skill (Main Idea )and Vocabulary Strategies (Shades of Meaning –
Synonym ). Home work and class work covered in the new Literature Packet and Readers Notebook .

Dear Family,
It was a pleasure meeting my young scientists last week as they were really
missed.
Last week we started discovering some facts about our skeletal and muscular
system through some activities and videos.
Also, I was so happy to receive the background researches of the science fair
from the young scientists and we are getting ready during the coming week to
perform their experiments in the lab.
This week we will continue exploring more about our bodies and how do our
hearts work and pump blood.

Dear parents and students,
This week we analyzed the ancient Sumerian civilization. Students recognized Sumerian advances in farming and other innovations. We discussed the Sumerian monarchy and bureaucracy. Students identified the Sumerian social class.
For the week ahead, we will complete Civilization in Sumer by
recognizing the difference in the lives of Sumerian men and women.
We will begin the vocabulary words for the next lesson: ‘Conquests
and Empire Building.

Lesson Lesson 2 – Selecting and organising content for a presentation
Context of the lesson
Where this fits into the “Big Picture”
In this unit, pupils will plan and create presentations about endangered animals. Pupils will explore the concept
of ‘fitness for purpose’ when using images, text, colour and sound to enhance their presentation. They will consider how to match and adapt their presentation to a given audience and purpose. Finally, they will evaluate the
suitability of their work for different audiences and purposes.
Target for this lesson:
What will pupils know/understand by the end of the lesson
Know: What the terms ‘purpose’ and ‘audience’ mean
Understand:. How to plan a presentation before beginning to create it.
Be able to: Identify the key content in a presentation and consider it critically.


Our 2nd graders had a very special visit from the Armed Forces.
Many army officers came to honor the role of the Martyr Mohamed Gamal (Hana Gamal’s father 2E and Youssef Gamal KG2).
We learned more about the role of the armed forces in securing
our country and how many people easily sacrifice themselves for
the people’s wellbeing…We thank them for everything they do !!
