MINIATURE PIG CHECKLIST
Miniature pig, also known as a mini pig, micro pig or tea cup pig, means a domesticated
pig that, at maturity, is less than 20 inches in height and weighs less than 150 pounds.
REGULATIONS AND CONDITIONS FOR MINIATURE PIGS
Regulations per City Code:
□ There can be no more than one dog or one miniature pig, six months of age or older,
for each 2,500 square feet of lot area.
o If more than 2 miniature pigs or dogs, the lot dimensions must be completed:

□ No person shall keep miniature pigs on any residentially zoned property within the
city without first obtaining a license from the City.

Conditions of a License per City Code:
□ The miniature pig shall be spayed or neutered. The owner must provide proof of
spaying or neutering by a State licensed veterinarian.
□ The property must be fenced to contain the miniature pig and must be no less than
four (4) feet in height, with an enclosed area of no less than 250 sq. ft.
□ The owner must provide proof that a microchip has been implanted in the miniature
pig for identification, including the microchip number and manufacturer name.
□ The miniature pig is no greater than 20 inches in height or 150 pounds.
□ Payment of $10.00 license fee. Licenses are issued for two-year terms, beginning on
January 1st. No proration of fee for applications received after January 1st.

“By signing this application, I understand that I must keep a Certificate of Vaccination for my miniature pig valid for the
license term. All dogs and cats kept, harbored, or maintained within the city shall be vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian for
rabies, with a live modified vaccine and distemper. I further understand that, upon demand of the City Clerk, Animal
Control Officer, or Police Officer, I shall present the required Certificate of Vaccination for my dog or cat. If not presented, I
shall have seven days in which to present the Certificate to the City Clerk, Animal Control Officer or Police Officer.”
