Aboriginal Healing

Change your Life:
Aboriginal Healing Retreat
with
Frank Ansell, Nungkari medicine man &
Sue Gregory, executive life coach & occupational therapist
In the heart of Australia, magic wraps itself around you. This is the place where the country’s spirit can be felt in the tingle
of warm red sand beneath your feet, and in the flooding of your senses as a trillion stars make you light. It is here that your
mind, your heart and your very soul can open up to discover, or rediscover anew, space, peace and purpose in your life – for
you to heal yourself and learn to help others more effectively through exploring indigenous healing.
Why come to the Centre for a healing retreat?
The heart and soul of Australia isn’t on the coast. The heart and soul of Australia is here … in the Centre of the country.
Here, in the present, you can reach back into the earth’s farthest time. Here you can soak in the spiritual nature of the
world’s oldest continuing culture.
As you taste the exquisite silence of this vast desert your thoughts begin to slow down and you will hear the desert’s
heartbeat and the rhythm of your own soul. You will reconnect with Source – the space beyond worlds – as found in
dreamtime and ancestral songlines – the magic where anything is possible. You will learn about the ways of the Nungkari,
the aboriginal traditional healers. There will also be the opportunity to explore their valuable contribution in light of recent
research into the effects of complementary and alternate energy based medicine.
How will this retreat help you?
We will step into the cultural mystery of the land, where the desert spirits will work their magic on you and anything could
happen.
Each day we will live in the present moment guided by intuition and sensitivity to the land, open to the mystery. Here are
6 experiences that are likely to occur – and know there will be more:
• Your mind will become as clear as the ancient spring water that bubbles through the red rocks - you will walk away
with body’s energy system tingling with zest for life
• You will discover the effortless flow of wellbeing that nestles in the quiet waterholes and experience how the healing
energy handed down through aboriginal traditions of millennia can change you
• Fatigue, busyness and cluttered living will dissolve into the vast blue sky replaced by the wholesome spaciousness of
simplicity and laughter
• Your muscles and mind will release tightly held worries and
you will drop into the emptiness of the dreamtime, into pure
awareness of the power of your mind to heal yourself and help
others
• You will hear the quiet whisper of desert wisdom that will change
the way you think, live and work to be more peaceful and full of
heart
• You will be different afterwards - perhaps more loving, easeful,
open, clearer in your direction or transformed in some way that
you don’t yet know, and can look forward to
What will you gain?
• New understandings of the role of energy and vibration to improve your health
• Appreciation of the power of nature to vitalise your body, mind and spirit
• An opportunity to help Close the Gap through experiencing the contribution that indigenous wisdom can give to
the modern day world
The offerings
In this 5 day retreat, east of Alice Springs, Frank and Sue will help you rediscover the wisdom and spirit that IS you when
you are surrounded by desert, ochre and the night skies. We will hold the space as the desert works it magic for you – for
your own healing, and for you to learn how to help and heal others.
You will experience smoking ceremonies, traditional nungkari
healings – individual and group, bush medicine, dreamtime
stories, and learn cultural and modern day approaches to
healing
Who is this for?

others to heal in a personal or professional capacity.

growth and transformation. Sue’s role is creating and holding the space for Frank to share
indigenous wisdom and healing, enabling people to suspend disbelief, and enter and ancient reality
