service?
What are Befrienders like and
what do they do?
Our befrienders are volunteers from different
backgrounds and are carefully selected and
trained.
He/she will spend time with you to do an activity which both of you decide to do. This
can vary from a walk in the park, shopping or
simply listening to music and having a chat
to following up a hobby.
If you can answer “yes” to any of these
questions, you might find our service helpful:

Do you feel isolated as a result of anxiety, depression or
schizophrenia?

Do you feel vulnerable to periods of
mental or emotional distress?

Are you trying to put your life
together after a breakdown?

Do you find it difficult to make and keep
friends?
Someone who had a Befriender told us: “It’s
not only the professionals who can help people like me. Sometimes I feel someone to
talk to is all that’s needed”.
