Have the Mission Rotation DVD-Rom playing as the conferees arrive. 2. Welcome each conferee into the room and ask them to sign the Thank You Card for the missionary families we will be learning about today. Encourage them to look around the room as the other conferees arrive. 3. Ask the conferees to take their seats and then read Romans 10:11-15. Share how this verse challenges us to share the love of Christ with all people and be willing to leave our comfort zone so that those who have not heard will hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. 4. Lead a time of prayer for those in attendance and for the churches they represent. 5. Using the instructions from the If You Knew Me portion of page 8 of the Mission Leader Guide, play the get acquainted game with the conferees. 6. Ask the conferees to introduce their partner and share one thing they learned about them. If the group is large, ask several conferees to share. 7. After each one has shared one thing about their partner remind the conferees that we each share many things in common. a. Our Savior b. Our desire to share His love with others c. Our passion for VBS 8. Meet the Missionaries a. Ask if everyone received a handout as they entered the room. b. Share with them that we will be learning about two different families again this year. c. Have the conferees fill in the blanks as you share the stories of the Dye Family that is serving in Atlanta and DJ’s family that is serving in Canada and South Asia. Share with them any updates that you have received about these families. i. THE DYE FAMILY 1. Matt Dye was the pastor at Dallsburg Baptist Church. 2. His family moved from Wheatley, Kentucky to Atlanta, Georgia. 3. Matt discovered that millions of people in Atlanta do not know that Jesus is real. 4. When Matt and his wife Teresa moved to Atlanta they didn’t have a job. They started their own Shaved Ice Truck business. 5. ______ is the name of the church the Dye Family started. 6. Teresa met a mom at a park her name is Tess. She and her family now know about Jesus. ii. DJ’s FAMILY 1. DJ’s parents are missionaries in Ontario, Canada. 2. DJ and his mom will travel to South Asia to visit with his Auntie Helen and Uncle Donald. 3. DJ’s aunt and uncle spend a lot of time with people living in slums. They tell the people there that Jesus loves them. 4. There are more than a billion South Asians in the world. 5. Many South Asians are Hindu and believe in over 300 million gods. 6. Uncle Donald puts Bible Stories and worship songs on micro SD cards. d. Tell the conferees it will be fun to share the stories of these two families with the children this summer. Each family stepped out on Faith and continues to trust God to provide for their needs as they serve Him in their own ministry areas. e. We all cannot pack up and go but we can be encouragers and Prayer Warriors for those who are serving around the world. Please remember to sign the cards for each Missionary family that are located on the conference room door entry table. I know they will be excited to see that they are being lifted up today. 9. Tide You Over Packs a. Share with the conferees an example of the Tide You Over Packs and ask if they have any suggestions that would like to share. b. Ask how the packs could be used in their ministry areas. 10. Mission Rotation Options a. Share with the group that some churches do not use the Mission Rotation materials because of time constraints. Have them share how their churches use the Mission Rotation during their VBS. i. During the Beginning or Ending Worship Rally’s ii. Watch the Missions video during the Snack Rotation iii. Time Share with another Rotation 1. Missions 3 days and Rec 2 days a. Condense the mission stories into 3 days and work on Tide You Over Packs 2. Missions 2 days and Crafts 3 days a. Learn about each Mission Family on separate days and work on Tide You Over Packs 11. If time permits answer any questions the conferees might have about the Mission Rotation materials.. 12. To conclude the conference share your contact information with the group and encourage them to share their 2016 VBS adventures with you. Then close in prayer.
