Welcome to Term 2
This term promises to be another busy term with lots of exciting events as well as many fantastic
learning opportunities for your children. We have lots planned including an exciting Anzac Day
celebration with the planting of an Oak tree all the way from Gallipoli, cross country events, the
start of our Premier’s Reading Challenge and many more events.
Our Portable Precinct begins
During the holidays we started the development of our Portable Precinct with the laying of our
artificial grass. And how the students love it…..

New Administrative Assistant Officer
Mrs Grace Fitzgerald has been appointed as our new Administrative Assistant in the school office.
Grace has worked at KHPS for many years, mostly in classrooms supporting student learning.
Many of your children will have come across Grace in the sick bay. We welcome Grace to her new
role and hope she enjoys working with the whole school community.
Student Attendance
It was a pleasure to see Mrs Stevenson recognising so many of our students with a Certificate
acknowledging their perfect attendance for Term 1. Congratulations to the 164 students able to
achieve such a milestone. Please see their names on the following pages. Educational research
clearly supports the link between student attendance and on-going academic and social success.
We strongly encourage all parents and carers to ensure students are at school other than when
ill. It really does make a difference to your child’s education.

Niddrie Library
Every Tuesday between 4 and 5pm there is a free after school activity for students .This is a great opportunity for children to participate
in a wide variety of activities and meet new friends. Please see the flyer following.

Our school photos day is Wednesday 27th April.
All students received an envelope for school photos earlier this week. Family photo envelopes are available at the
office.
Please make sure you have everything ready to go for the day, including the correct uniform.
Return the envelope with the correct payment before or on the day. Late orders will need to be placed directly with the photo
company and incur an additional cost.

Each issue we offer a quality gold coin book because we believe every child deserves the chance to take home a great book
and experience independent reading for pleasure.
