Task: Evaluate Quality Work
 Look at the following student examples of
acrostic poems. Take note of the following:
 Ideas: What facts are present in the poem? Do I
feel like I’m learning something, or it’s a list of
generalizations?
 Organization: Is the poem organized in
chronological order, or some other system that
brings meaning to the piece, or are words
scattered about that match the necessary
letters?
 Word Choice: Does the vocabulary reflect that of
a sixth-grader? Are there words present that
enhance the piece? Were words placed in the
poem simply for the sake of containing the
correct letter to make the poem flow?
