Suitable attire does not include spandex body wear, cutoffs, running shorts, running suits, short-shorts, tank tops, denim of any kind or color, or unkempt clothing of any kind. Neat and clean pants, skirts, slacks, cords, or shorts are acceptable as are sweaters, sweatshirts and golf shirts. Shoes must be worn at all times. Contestants failing to meet the Dress Code will not be permitted to play. SPIKELESS SHOES It is a condition of this competition that contestants in the tournament will not be permitted to wear metal spikes on their golf shoes during play. Contestants may wear golf shoes with any of the alternative “spikeless” products, or any golf teaching shoes, tennis shoes or any other hard or soft soled shoes that will not penetrate or damage a soft putting green. UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL Entrants who unofficially withdraw without an acceptable reason and without notifying Laurelwood staff will not be granted entry into this event next year. CODE OF CONDUCT Contestants are expected to 1. Know and play by the Rules of Golf, 2. Conduct themselves at all times in a sportsmanlike manner, 3. Respect the golf course and the rights of other contestants, 4. Fulfill their playing obligations and 5. Know and abide by the Pace of Play Policy. If the Committee considers that a player is guilty of a serious breach of etiquette, including but not limited to unsportsmanlike conduct, it may impose the penalty of DISQUALIFICATION. INCLEMENT WEATHER The Committee will make every effort to complete the scheduled number of rounds of the tournament. As a general policy, in circumstances under which the final round is suspended due to inclement weather and it becomes impossible to complete the round on the same day: 1. If all players in the field/flight/division have not completed at least 9 holes, the results of the Championship will be determined by reverting to the previous round’s totals and the suspended round will be canceled, or 2. If all players have completed at least 9 holes of the final round, every effort will be made to finish the final round. All decisions to suspend or resume play will be at the discretion of the Committee. LAURELWOOD GOLF COURSE presents The Al Mundle City of Eugene Golf Championship 2700 Columbia Street Eugene, OR 97403 541-484-4653 August 23-24, 2014 ELIGIBILITY All contestants must be at least 18 years of age, have amateur status with a legitimate USGA handicap. ENTRY FEE $75 entry fee must accompany your entry and includes 2 rounds of 18 holes of golf, 1 box lunch on Saturday, tee prizes and awards (Practice Rounds & Golf Carts are extra). Refunds are not available after closing date of August 2, 2014. All refunds are subject to a $20.00 administration fee. FORMAT AND PRIZES 36-hole stroke play gross competition with Men’s and Women’s Divisions. All prize awards will be made on the basis of Gross & Net finish. Merchandise gift cards & certificates will be given to top finishers. A trophy will be awarded to the Gross Men’s & Women’s Champions. In the event of a tie for the Men’s or Women’s Championship, the Champion will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff. ENTRY DEADLINE Entries will be accepted according to the date of receipt of entry and entry fee. Entries must reach the Laurelwood Golf Shop by 5pm on Saturday , August 2, 2014. Entries by telephone, FAX, or email must accompany payment. Late entries will be accepted and placed on an alternate’s list to fill spots if they become available up until a time that the Laurelwood staff establishes. Late entries will not be accepted. FIELD LIMIT Field will be limited to the first 20 qualified women and the first 48 qualified men entrants EXEMPTIONS There will be no exemptions. This is the inaugural year. STARTING TIMES & PRACTICE ROUNDS Starting times, pairings, and practice round information will be forwarded via email and posted at the Laurelwood Golf Shop. AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION & CADDIES Contestants may use automotive transportation and fees must be paid by the contestant to the club at the time of rental. ($25 if alone; $12.50 if shared with another contestant) A maximum of 2 carts is allowed per tee-time. WE ONLY HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF CARTS; FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE BASIS ONLY Spectator carts are not allowed. Contestants may use a caddie. RULES USGA Rules of Golf will govern all play except for those conditions modified by Local Rules which will be published on your rules sheet on day of play. All questions will be resolved by the committee in charge of the competition, whose decision shall be final. GOLF BALLS & EQUIPMENT Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls shall be used . The “OneBall Rule” shall NOT be in effect. Golf clubs on the latest list of USGA Non-Conforming Clubs will be prohibited. DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES The use of conforming Distance Measuring Devises are permitted during the competition. PROHIBITION OF OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES As a condition of this Championship, the use of noise making pagers, radios, iPods, and any other similar electronic noise making devices will be prohibited during Championship play. www.golflaurelwood.com
