place (21:40.50), the 5th-best finish by a freshman in the DII championship, and junior Brittany Grant in 79th place (22:01.40)…WWU placed

The men’s cross country team finished 6th in the stacked NCAA II West Regional, but did not advance to the NCAA Championships…snapped
a string of eight consecutive seasons to advance to nationals…placed 6th in the regional field with 194 points and a combined time of 2:35:41.23
on the 10,000-meter course…sophomore Andrew Wise led the Vikings with a 14th-place finish at regionals in 30:22.33 to earn USTFCCCA AllRegion honors…Wise also earned All-GNAC honors placing 10th in the GNAC Championships held in Bellingham at Lake Padden…team placed
3rd in the 11-team GNAC Championships with 83 points, trailing powerhouse Alaska Anchorage (21 points, 5 racers in top 10) and Simon Fraser
(54 points, 2 racers in top 10)…a total of six Vikings placed in the top 25 in the 8k race: 14th -- Matthew Lutz, 16th -- Nick Mounier, 21st -- Sean
Eustis, 22nd -- Will Jones, 25th -- Max Romey…Isaac Derline battled injuries throughout the season, but placed first at the Saint Martin’s Open
in Lacey (9/26).
