How to Make the Ask - Carol Weisman, President, Board Builders, Inc.
Many experienced and effective board members and chief executives are intimidated when it
comes to asking for money. Staff also can experience real anxiety despite years of experience.
What can be done? For starters, we can stop rehearsing what we want to say to major donors
and concentrate on what we want to learn about major donor fundraising. In this highly
interactive session, Weisman will cover:
 What steps you need to take before you approach a prospect for a gift.
 Once you’ve done the homework, how do you start a conversation with prospects,
common pain points along the way, and how to reinforce your case on behalf of girls as
part of making the ask.
