Why did the US enter WW1.

Why did the US enter WW1.
On April 6 1917 the US joined its allies. Britain, France, Russia
to fight in WW1. The US was under the command of Major General
John J Pershing. There are 3 reasons why the US entered WW1.
Comment [A1]: What does WW1 stand for? You
should at least in the first reference state the entire
name, and then use the abbreviation. Ex. World
War One, (WWI).
Comment [A2]: This really isn’t necessary to the
essay.
First is The Zimmerman Telegram and then the economic issues and
finally the sinking of the Lusitania a British Linear.
The Zimmerman Telegram is a big part in why the US entered
WW1. It was a coded telegram that was from Arthur Zimmerman,

then was forwarded to the German Ambassador in Mexico. The
telegram was stopped and decoded by the British and it said that
Mexico was going to invade America and they would get back some
of their land.
The economic issues really did not help. The US had invested
Comment [A4]: Now explain why this helped
push the US into WWI. Did just the government
find out? Did the public learn about it? You just
need some more details and then connect it to your
thesis.
Comment [A5]: Did not help what?
$2.6 billion in to the war. If the allied powers lost we weren’t ever
going to get our money back.
Comment [A6]: This paragraph doesn’t really
give enough detail or tie back into your thesis.
Remember you are telling me why the US entered
WWI. Every paragraph should tie back to that idea.
Make it very clear how this relates to your thesis.
Finally the reason everyone says is the most important. The

or don’t say anything at all.
sinking of the Lusitania. It was a luxury linear. The Germans sank it in
May 1915 and it killed 128 Americans. It was also carrying supplies
and weapons for Great Britain.
Comment [A8]: Need to add more details to this
paragraph. And again tie it back into the thesis.
Why specifically did this push the US into WWI?
World War 1 ended November 11, 1918. With the Allies winning
the victory. It was a 4 year long war, it was a tragedy. A lot of lives
were lost and a lot of things had to happen for this war to start. It
should’ve never happened.
Comment [A9]: This paragraph really is
disconnected from the main idea of the paper. Your
conclusion should point back to your thesis. Just
restate why the US entered WW1.
