It focuses on the verb phrase and related topics from a descriptive perspective. The following topics are to be covered during the semester: finite and non-finite clauses, tense and aspect, modal auxiliaries, conditional and unreal clauses, and passive structures. Grading will be based on class participation (10%), a midterm (40%) and an endterm (50%) test. No more than 3 absences are allowed. Taking the tests on the designated dates is mandatory.
