Pululahua Crater, the only inhabited crater in the World. Afterwards

the northern and southern hemispheres according to the French
Geodesic Mission in the XVIII century. In this museum you will be able
to admire the panoramic view of the equator´s area and its cosmic
surrounding towns. You will experience a world of fantasy from the

There is also a unique Solar Clock which has two faces over the
Equator´s line. You’ll also see an agricultural clock with an index of

As we return to Quito, we will stop at the “Ciudad Mitad del Mundo”
where the Mitad del Mundo Ethnographical Museum is
located, a museum about Ecuador´s Indigenous Ethnography.
Between 1979 and 1982 a monument over 90 feet tall was built to
mark the point where it was believed that the Equator line was
crossing the country at the time.

Otavalo is located in the Imbabura province, 62 miles north of Quito.
This is one of the most important touristic cities in Ecuador,
surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers, making it a Paradise one
always wants to return to. Otavalo is worldwide known for its
Indigenous Market or “Poncho´s Square”. We will depart from the
hotel at 08h00 via the Panamerican Highway where we will enjoy the
scenery. A brief stop in Guayallabamba will be made where you can
taste the wonderful and delicious “chirimoyas”, a regional sweet fruit
endemic of the area. We will also make a stop at the Cayambe´s
lookout point so you can take pictures of this magnificent volcano.
Before reaching Otavalo we will make a stop at the San Pablo´s lake
lookout point, in the base of the Imbabura Volcano. We will visit the
Otavalo Market where you can appreciate and do some shopping of
a wide variety of the most beautiful artisans and handcrafted
souvenirs in Ecuador. After lunch (not included) we will visit Cotacachi
known as the “Music Capital” of Imbabura and famous for its leather

PAPALLACTA
Papallacta is a small town in Ecuador located at 9,900 feet in the
Eastern Mountain Range on the way from Quito to the Amazon jungle.
The scenic route from Quito to Papallacta passes by small towns and
villages before ascending to a maximum altitude of 12,000 feet where
mountains and glaciers are visible. Descending from the top of the
mountain to Papallacta, we go through the portal of the mountain´s
ecosystem, until it transitions into a tropical jungle.
We will depart from Quito very early in the morning through the highway
that leads to the Amazon Jungle. After that, we will have a brief stop at
the Papallacta Lagoon which is located in a very cold climate with a
beautiful view of natural landscapes. This lagoon has amazing natural
water spring pools, ideal for anti-stress therapies and highly

touristic complex “Papallacta Water springs”, where in addition to the
