8.30am - 5.30pm
Law Foyer, New Law Building (F10), Sydney Law School, The University of Sydney
This conference provides a holistic view of the opportunities and threats entailed in the digital world of the
21st Century. Drawing on specialists in management, computer technology, regulation and the law, the
conference will provide insights into how digital disruption is impacting businesses, governments, investors and
consumers. We will discuss how intellectual property rights and privacy are being challenged by digital
communities. We will hear how banking and financial services will be transformed by new payment platforms
and digital money. The world of entertainment, gaming and financial crime is also on the radar. Is e-gaming
adequately regulated? Is the digital world subverted by money launderers? How can massive tax avoidance
by multinationals be tamed? And finally, we will learn how the Chinese government and Chinese banks are
responding to digital innovation and disruption.
