Honda Vietnam Launches SH 125i/150i,
Brand-New Scooters to Be Marketed Globally,
Featuring a brand-new design with LED lighting system,
eSP - Enhanced Smart Power - the new generation engine,
with ABS, anti-lock braking system, and SMART Key
Hanoi, November 8, 2016 – Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd. (HVN) today launches SH 125i/150i, all-new
scooter series in Vietnam. SH125i/150i offer perfect combinations of premium European design
with prominent advanced technologies, and deliver pre-eminent performance with distinctive style
for riders who have passions for perfection. SH 125i/150i are to be marketed globally, and Vietnam
is one of the first markets that introduce the models. HVN announced that it plans to export the
models to those international markets as its production hub. HVN believes that the export of SH
models to global market will solidify Vietnamese customers’ confidence in Honda’s SH scooters
made by HVN.
SH 125i/150i are now exhibited at the 2016 EICMA motor show until November 13th in Milan, Italy,
for the international media and audience. The distinctive all-new SH125i/150i models with quality
are expected to draw global attentions worldwide.
<History of SH series>
The first generation of SH series was introduced in 1984 and rapidly became popular on European
streets with its stylish design, powerful performance, and comfortable handling even on stonepaved, ancient streets. Since their first launch in the market, the SH series with capacity ranging
from 50cc to 300cc have been leaders in advanced technologies, modern equipment, luxurious
design and innovative changes over time.
The SH 125i/150i models were first launched in Vietnam in 2009. With its luxurious and eyecatching design and advanced technologies, the models promptly attracted attention by meeting
customers’ demand. The models, being updated with minor changes in 2010 and 2011, become
leading scooters in Vietnam. In 2012 HVN launched the luxurious global SH models with the new
generation engine - enhanced Smart Power (eSP) .

Honda has paid special attention to create ‘characters’ on the all-new Honda SH series. The allnew SH 125i/150i offer distinctive style, handling, outstanding dynamic performance as well as
advanced utility and environmental features. While the previous Honda SH 125i/150i were already
well-known for their comfort, handling and performance, the new premium SH 125i/150i scooters
have gone through impressive upgrades with the renewed styling and modern technologies.
Design
The new SH 125i/150i have their own unique designs, while inheriting the long-standing luxurious
style incorporated in the unique character of the SH series. Smooth, flowing lines from the front to
the back deliver a sense of style in its gracious appearance, and are integrated into the new “SH”
logos. The impressive front end is a fine combination of stylish headlights, turn signal indicators,
positioning lights and a chrome - painted ornament.
The highlight of the new design is a new adoption of a Synchronous LED Lighting System for
headlights, positioning lights and brake lights. While the new compact lighting system is one of the
key elements of the models’ stylish and trend-setting appearance, it helps improve the models’
practicality by delivering softer lights with low power consumption with LED’s high durability.
Furthermore, the electronic meters are changed to the 3-D separate design with a speedometer in
the middle, a fuel gauge, and a water gauge on the left side and the right side respectively.
The new SH 125i/150i have elegant European-styled bodies deliver luxurious and sophisticated
appearances viewed from any angles, including the rear view. The slim rear end of each model
with sharp edges form the two sides demonstrates its stylish appearance with a solid and
functional rear handle grip. The eye-catching 16-inch wheels also contribute to offering boldlooking essences to the appearance, while they enable the models to offer superior handling and
stability under all riding conditions.
Technology
The SH 125i/150i are powered by the new generation engine, enhanced Smart Power (eSP). The
compact eSP system comes with Honda’s various latest advanced technologies, such as
Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM FI), Alternating Current Generator (ACG) starter, Idling Stop,
Intelligent Low Friction and complete combustion systems, and the engine system makes the allnew models achieve low noise and quiet operations and great performances in fuel economy and
emissions.
The models also come with SMART Key system, which is an anti-theft feature for customers to use
motorcycles with best confidence. The new SMART Key system provides riders with optimal antitheft features, such as Remote Locking and Unlocking, Alarm Functions as well as Position
Finding, which is useful to find the vehicles in crowded motorcycle parking areas. Notably, two
wireless remote control fob keys are provided by HVN to customers for ease and comfort of use.
With the fob keys, the users can lock or unlock their motorcycles remotely just like
automobiles users.
New features of SH 125i/150i:
LED lighting system: the lighting system, including headlights, parking lights, and brake lights, is
equipped with synchronous LED lighting, the epitome of trend-setting style.
In addition, with its durable LED lighting system giving softer light and smaller size, the new SH
optimizes customers’ interests combining increased performance with reduced power consumption.
Modern LED headlights with the SH logo are a unique design feature of the SH. Rear lights also
incorporate a brand new fully featured design incorporating a LED lights.
The 2 Channels ABS is a anti-lock braking system that is equipped on both front and rear wheels
of a motorcycle, and it prevents wheel lock-ups in the event of sudden stops or riding on slippery
roads. When speed sensors in front or rear wheel observe sudden or abnormal braking or wheel
locking, the on-board computer-unit controls the braking force to minimize stopping distance, while
avoiding wheel lock-up.
Front inner box equipped with convenient power socket and utility hook: the bigger front inner box
with an additional power socket and foldable utility hook provides absolute convenience for
customers.
Sales Information
The sales of the models will start from November 18, 2016 at Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealers
(HEAD). The new SH 125i/150i models will be available in two versions.
