• Must absorb their nutrients…saprozoic
Fungi like Protists are not true Fungi because:
• they have centrioles and they do not have chitin in their cell walls
• 2 groups…Slime Molds and Water Molds

• Water molds are found mostly decomposing material in the water….caused the potato famine in Ireland in the 1840’s
• Condition were very wet and cool during this time…millions starved while millions of others moved to North America to start a new life.
