Thinksheet 2.12: Using Bullets to Summarize

Thinksheet 2.12: Using Bullets to Summarize Name: ______________________
Directions: Read each paragraph, and choose one part to summarize using bullets. Remember that
the bullets all need to be about the same topic.
1) Cooking
Cooking is a great way to have fun and make treats for your family and friends. You can make
cookies. You can make a cake. You can even make hamburgers. The one thing you cannot make is the
tools you need for cooking. You need bowls. You need spoons. You need pans. You need measuring
cups. If you have all the tools and ingredients, you can cook food that tastes great.

2) Football
Many children want to play football when they grow up. Not many people get to have this job,
though. If you want to be a professional football player, you need to be big. You need to be strong.
You need to have talent. You also need to be hardworking and lucky. It is probably a good idea to
have another job in mind in case you don’t end up playing football.

3) Matter
Everything that takes up space and has mass is called matter. Candy is matter. Juice is matter. Even
air is matter. There are three different forms of matter. The first is solid. The second is liquid. The last
is gas. Even you are made of matter.
