A very warm welcome
Autumn-1 2015
In this issue:
to Bottesford Pre-School;
whether you and your child are returning after the summer break,
or one of our new families just starting with us. This term we will
be focusing on settling all the children into Pre-School, learning
all our new routines and all about snack time. We will be talking
about families, so please if possible could you return your “family
sheets”.
We shall also be looking at Autumn this term and hopefully we
shall be visiting Warwick Flats to see the senior citizens and sing
them some Harvest songs. We will be making flapjack to take
down to them as our harvest gift.
THIS FRIDAY
Fun Day! September 18th
Everyone welcome! Please join us for our Annual Pre-School Fun Day
from 3.30pm-5.30pm. There will be lots of different stalls and games,
tombola, face painting and a bouncy castle. To save you going home to
cook tea there is also a BBQ and cake stall!

Can you help by donating a prize or two for the tombola? These
can be dropped off at Pre-School anytime before the event.

Or perhaps bake some cakes for the cake stall? These should be
delivered to Pre-School on the actual day.
We would love to see as many people there as possible, so please come
along and support us for our biggest fundraiser of the year!

Sue’s News
How much hidden sugar do your children consume every day ? quite a lot is probably the answer, according to Jamie Oliver’s
‘sugar rush’ programme.
I have always known about hidden sugars but even I was shocked
when it was revealed how much is getting into even so-called
healthy foods and snacks, and the consequences can be horrific.
Apart from obesity, children are increasingly being admitted for
surgery to remove rotten teeth, and type 2 diabetes is now on
the increase. With this in mind we have decided to ask you to
‘kick out the cake’ (and biscuits and chocolate) from lunchboxes.
If you really need to give a treat then save it for teatime!.
If you have any questions concerning children’s nutrition, please
see Sue Booth, our Healthy Eating Co-ordinator.
Working Party
We are potentially having a working party Saturday 19th September, from 1.30 onwards depending on the weather. So please
if you can spare an hour or two come along and help make PreSchool look tidier. Please check our Facebook page for upto date
information. Refreshments will be provided.
