TRACK RULES

Be respectful of everyone’s varying activity.
Please adhere to the Track Rules to ensure the safety of all participants.
Donations are appreciated—see the track corkboard in the skaters’ lobby.

ALL RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED FOR THE
HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ALL TRACK USERS
1. Lanes are designated for your safety:
2 Inside Lanes: Walking
3rd Lane: Jogging
4th Lane: Running Only
2. Warm up/cool down/stretching must take place along the
East Side in the 2 outside sprint lanes (Front Parking Lot
side).
3. Track Direction is counterclockwise at all times.
4. Persons pushing strollers may not walk with more than two
(2) single strollers side by side, and only in the designated
walking lanes.
5. Always pass on the outside lane.
6. Do not walk more than two abreast.
7. Do not stand within oval lane markings on track.
8. No pets are permitted (service animals excepted).
9. No spitting or spouting of water.

Coach required to be present during training
4 1/4 laps around the inside lane = 1 km or 6 7/8 laps = 1 mile
LANE
DISTANCES 4 1/7 laps around the middle lane = 1 km or 6 2/3 laps = 1 mile
4 laps around the outside lane = 1 km or 6 1/2 laps = 1 mile
The City of Waterloo is not responsible for lost or stolen items. For your
safety, we do NOT recommend storing anything of value in your car or trunk.
10. The track is a scent-free zone. Please refrain from wearing
any perfumes/colognes and other highly scented products.
11.Inline skating is not permitted on the track or inside the
building.
12.No equipment, including but not limited to sticks, balls,
pucks, mats, weights, skipping ropes, etc. which might
interfere with the safety of any walker or runner while on
the track surface.
13.During Free Public Use time periods the track is for the
Public’s use for walk/jog/run activities only. Commercial/
Enterprise use (i.e. personal trainers, fitness instructors,
entrepreneurs, course conductors, etc) are prohibited
from using the track for private programming and/or their
delivery of service with clients.
