Name: __________________________________________________ Period: ____________ Date: __________ Life Science – Video Tutorial Project #3 Video Tutorial Project #3 – Cell Organelle Commercial Due - Monday (12/12) Overview: The new company “Super Cell Technologies” is looking for students to help sell their products (plant and animal cell organelles). Using the information you’ve learned in class and the resources below, you are ready to begin making your videos. Remember creativity and originality are the key components to producing a high quality commercial that the executives at “Super Cell Technologies” desire. Completed videos will be posted in Schoology. Commercial Requirements: 1. You will create a 2-3-minute video commercial (using the “trailer” option in iMovie) selling either a plant or animal cell organelle of your choosing. 2. Review you notes, textbook, and the links below to gather the information and brainstorm ideas you will need regarding the organelle you chose. http://www.cellsalive.com/cells/cell_model.htm http://www.biologyjunction.com/cell_functions.htm 3. The commercial must include: (1) a description of the organelle (2) pictures or models of the organelle (3) characteristics of the organelle that would make someone want to purchase the organelle. Remember you must be able to convince your audience to want to purchase your organelle 4. Students may use iMovie to edit and complete this project. 5. Props, models, diagrams, posters, pictures, or other type of visual media may be used to complete your video. 6. Please see your Schoology folder for some sample videos. 7. Be creative! This video can be as “low” tech or as “high” tech as you choose. Your folder in Schoology contains some sample videos (both low and high tech). If you have experience using other video editing software or production applications, please feel free to use them – maybe we could even have you create tutorials on their use for others to learn from? All completed videos will be uploaded to a “Media Album” in Schoology for everyone to see by the “Wrap Date” (this is what the due date is called in Hollywood).
