East Point Provides Water to Tri-Cities Area
East Point is now
providing water to not
only local residents, but
to citizens of Hapeville
and College Park as
well. The Water Sales
Agreement between
East Point and the
other two cities benefits
the City by generating
more revenue, while
providing safe, clean
drinking water to all.

East Point Receives Acclaimed Budget Award
The City of East Point is a recipient of the prestigious United States and Canadian Government
Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, which
represents a significant achievement. According to GFOA in a Press Release, “It reflects the
commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental
budgeting.” To qualify, East Point had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective
budget presentation. The guidelines assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy
document; a financial plan; an operations guide; and a communications device. To receive
the award, budget documents had to be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in the 14
mandatory criteria within those categories. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to East
Point Budget Manager Sharon Haynes for being primarily responsible for making certain the City
met all budgetary guidelines.
The City of East Point and Airport West CID have joined forces to implement the mobile app
See-Click-Fix, which enables persons to report non-emergency neighborhood issues to local
government. Citizens, businesses and property owners have the ease of using their smartphones
to report potholes, graffiti, damaged street signs, code violations, sidewalk issues and other
related problems. Once an issue is reported, it is automatically forwarded to the appropriate City
Department. The overall objective is to improve accountability, provide a faster response time, and
encourage citizen engagement. This app also has an integrated management system that allows
officials to communicate directly with persons filing reports, track issues and monitor success.

East Point’s Old Library Newly Renovated
The City of East Point is proud to announce that a recent publicprivate partnership with a film company has resulted in the
abatement and improvement of the old Library downtown. The
library, located at 2777 McGee Way, has been transformed into a
film location asset and tourism spot. It is the site of the TV series
“Stranger Things,” which will air this summer. The newly improved
building has caught the eye of other film scouts as well, which
could result in future rentals and additional revenue for the City.
