1
AUDIENCE STANDS TO SING WHILE NOAH WALKS UP THROUGH THE AUDIENCE TO THE STAGE
Lord Jesus, think on me, And purge away my sin
From earthborn passions set me free, And make me pure within.
Lord Jesus, think on me, Nor let me go astray,
Through darkness and perplexity, Point thou the heavenly way.
Lord Jesus think on me, when flows the tempest high,
When on doth rush the enemy, O Saviour be thou nigh.
Lord Jesus think on me, That when the flood is past,
I may eternal brightness see, And share thy joy at last.
VOICE OF GOD
I, God that all this world hath wrought
I see my people in deed and thought
Are set full foul in sin.
Man that I made I will destroy
For on earth they me deny,
The folk that are there on.
Destroyed all the world shall be,
Save thou, thy wife and children three,
And their wives also with thee
shall saved be for thy sake.
Therefore NOYE my servant free
That righteous man art, as I see,
A ship(pe) now thou shall make thee
Of trees dry and light.
Three hundred cubits it shall be long,
And fifty broad, to make it strong,
Of height fifty, thus measure it about,
NOYE
One window work through my wit,
A cubit of length and breadth make it,
Upon the side a door shall sit
For to come in and out.
O Lord, I thank thee, loud and still,
That to me art in such will,
And spares me and my house to spill.
Have done, you men and women all,
Hye you, lest this water fall
(go quickly)
To work this ship, chamber and hall, (to make this ship)
As God hath bidden us do.

Over the land the water spreads,
God do as he will,
O Great God, that art so good,
That works not thy will is wood, (A person who does not do your will is deaf)
Now all this world is on a flood,
As I see well in sight.

NOYE, MRS NOYE, CHILDREN AND ANIMALS/BIRDS
Eternal Father, strong to save, Whose arm doth bind the restless wave,
Who bidst the mighty ocean deep, Its own appointed limits keep,
O hear us when we cry to thee, For those in peril on the sea.
Joined by THE AUDIENCE
O Saviour whose almighty word, the winds and waves submissive heard,
Who walkedst on the foaming deep, And calm amidst its rage didst sleep,
O hear us when we cry to thee, For those in peril on the sea.
O Sacred Spirit, who didst brood, Upon the chaos dark and rude,
Who badst its angry tumult cease, And gavest light and life and peace,
O hear us when we cry to thee, For those in period on the sea.
THE STORM SUBSIDES AND ALL THE CREATURES IN THE ARK GO TO SLEEP
NOYE LOOKS OUT
NOYE
Now forty days are fully gone

THE RAVEN HOPS OUT OF THE ARK
That dry it is on hill or plain
THE RAVEN FLIES OFF INTO THE DISTANCE
Ah Lorde, wherever this raven be,
somewhere is fry, well I see.
But yet a dove, a dove, by my lewte (faith)
A dove after I will send.
THE DOVE HOPS OUT OF THE ARK AND DISAPPEARS
Thou wilt turn again to me
For of all fowl that may fly
Thou art most meek and hend. (obedient and gentle)
THE DOVE RETURNS WITH THE OLIVE BRANCH IN HIS BEAK
THE DOVE ALIGHTS ON THE ARK AND NESTLES UP TO NOYE
Oh Lord, blessed be thou aye (for ever)
That me has comfort thus today.
My sweet dove to me brought has
A branch of olive from some place.
It is a sign of peace!
Ah Lord, honoured must thou be,
All earth dry is now, I see.
But yet till thou command me,
Hence will I not hie. (I will not leave the ark)
9
THE VOICE OF GOD

with all the blue ethereal sky
And spangled heavens, a shining frame,
Their great original proclaim.

Th’unwearied sun from day to day,
Doth his Creator’s power display,
And publishes to every land
The works of an almighty hand.
THE MOON APPEARS
10
ALL THE ANIMALS AND BIRDS JOIN IN
Soon as the evening shades prevail,
The moon takes up the wondrous tale,
And nightly to the listening earth,
Repeats the story of her birth.
THE STARS APPEAR
Whilst all the stars that round her burn,
And all the planets in their turn
confirm the tidings as they roll,
and spread the truth from pole to pole.
THE AUDIENCE JOINS IN
What though in solemn silence all
Move round the dark terrestrial ball,
What though nor real voice nor sound
Amid their radiant orbs be found,
In reason’s ear they all rejoice,
And utter forth a glorious voice,
Forever singing as they shine,
The hand that made us is divine. Amen.
ALL THE ANIMALS HAVE LEFT. ONLY NOYE IS LEFT ALONE. MRS NOYE WAITS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE
STEPS.
THE VOICE OF GOD
My blessing, Noye, I give thee here,
To thee, Noye, my servant dear,
For vengeance shall no more appear,
And now, farewell, my darling dear.
NOYE COMES DOWN THE STEPS, HE JOINS MRS NOYE AND THEY WALK SOLEMNLY DOWN THE
CENTRE OF THE AISLE TO THE EXIT DURING THE FINAL 13 BARS OF THE SCORE
WITH BUGLES AND BELLS.
