Warrior Connection M O N T H L Y N E W S L E T T E R — S U L L Y J U L Y 2 9 , 2 0 1 6 C H R I S T I A N S C H O O L From the Desk of Laurie Loftus… Summer seems to pass to quickly for all of us. Our kids are involved in sports and county fair activities, and they are struggling to find time to spend with some leisure time with their friends. Trying to find the time to go on that family outing or family vacation seems impossible at times. Even though the days are longer, the time goes just as fast. As parents, we ask ourselves, “What we do with our time if we weren’t running our kiddos somewhere and attending their summer events?” Well, some of us probably answer that question with, “I don’t know.” Others may say “I could definitely keep busy.” Personally, both of these answers would be fitting. However, I certainly enjoy spending time at ballgames and events along with that special family vacation that will bring lasting memories. The tasks on my summer “to do” list do not always get done, but I know there will be a better time to get those things done. Kids start to get antsy about this time of year because summer activities and sports are over for the most part and they are getting bored. The Back to School signs are in the stores earlier each year it seems. My kids are never in too big of hurry to get the back to school shopping done. They just simply don’t want to think about summer coming to an end already. The Iowa State Fair is yet to come and seems to be one of the final events of the summer before school starts. I think we are very fortunate to have such a great fair in the state of Iowa. One of my personal favorites is the pork chop on a stick. Its amazing how many foods are now served on a stick! Soon will be the beginning of another school year. I am looking forward to seeing all of you again when you walk through the doors the morning of August 23. You will have to stop by my office sometime and tell me about something fun you did this summer! See you soon! ~ Laurie 2016 Society Meeting Highlights June 15, 2016 Kevin Veenstra, Board President, opened with devotions and prayer. 44 members present along with 29 absentee ballots.
