Tour highlights - Point Pelee National Park, Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC)

Surrounded by water on three sides, Windsor Essex is a peninsula that is truly
defined by water. From water sports such as boating, fishing and jet-skiing to
admiring and experiencing the great vistas from the mainland or Pelee Island,
there is sure to be a “picture-worthy” moment for you and your group. Explore
the charm of Windsor’s heritage-rich Old Walkerville district at the Canadian
Club Brand Heritage Centre, Walkerville Brewery, and at eclectic boutique shops
for esoteric tastes. Let the history of prohibition, steeped in the rollicking days of
smugglers and the birthplace of the Canadian automobile industry carve out your
sense of our proud and storied past.
9:00 AM - After breakfast, drive through scenic Essex County to visit Point Pelee
National Park, with time to explore the “southernmost tip of Canada” and the
Marsh Boardwalk.
11:00 AM - Take in a tour and lunch at one of our Essex Pelee Island Coast
(EPIC) wineries, which offer an array of meal options from picnic baskets to full
plated meals.
1:00 PM- After lunch, head to the Canadian Club Brand Centre to learn about
the rich history of the Walkerville District, and maybe try a little whisky, too!
Guests are brought into the basement’s Speak Easy room where meetings were
held with Al Capone and The Purple Gang and are told the story of how Canadian
Club whisky quenched the thirst of many U.S. citizens for 13 long years during
Prohibition from 1920-1933.
3:00 PM - Visit Walkerville Brewery, which was built in 1885 and serves up four
varieties of craft beer, or for a little more history, check out Willistead Manor, a
1906 36-room mansion designed and built by Albert Kahn.
