What do the students already know? (This could be the Intro or they have learned
information before starting this lesson):
Students understand that the big blue spots on our class globe are bodies of water.
They understand that there are four major oceans.
Objective (What are the students’ going to accomplish):
We will learn what the four major oceans are as well as where they are located.
Students will be able to point to an ocean on the globe and tell which ocean it is.
Materials:
Worksheet over oceans.
Diagram over oceans.
Procedure:
We will talk about where the oceans are and give details about each ocean.
Assessment (How will the students’ show you that the objective has been met):
Students will label the four major oceans and color them with different blues to indicate
where they are located.
A Brief Description Of The Entire Lesson - Plus Any Additional Information to be
Included: We will discuss the four major oceans. I will present my diagram of various
details of the four major oceans. We will learn where the major oceans are located.
Then students will be asked to color and locate the four major oceans on the “Oceans of
the World worksheet”.
