Research seminar Thursday 13th December 10h -12h - Ecully 10h00 – Anestis DOUGKAS Centre de recherche de l’Institut Paul Bocuse. The effect of quantity and source of proteins on appetite and appetite-regulating hormones Summary - Dietary protein is considered the most satiating macronutrient, yet there is little evidence on whether the effects observed are attributable to the protein or to the concomitant manipulation of carbohydrates and fat. Results from novel intervention studies will address the impact of protein quantity and quality on appetite and appetite-regulating hormones in healthy adults. 10h45 – Julie-Anne NAZARE Centre de Recherche en Nutrition Humaine Rhône-Alpes/Carmen laboratory Lifestyle modulation and cardiometabolic impact Summary – There is a great need to shed light on the relationships between abdominal obesity, diet quality, physical activity and cardiometabolic risk factors. Research on the modulation of postprandial phase (intensity, quality, kinetics and frequency) on glucose homeostasis, cardiometabolic profile and metabolic flexibility will be addressed. Furthermore within broader research interests on lifestyle impact on health, studies examining the determinants of active transport lifestyle using socioecological approach, as well as the DEDIPAC European knowledge hub on the determinants of dietary, physical activity and sedentary behaviors will be discussed. Anestis Dougkas is a researcher in nutrition, health and eating behaviour at the Centre for Food and Hospitality Research at Institute Paul Bocuse.
