Tongue Twister Articulation In-Class Activity
I will assign you a partner. With your partner, read through all 10 of the tongue twisters on the reverse
side of this page. Each partner must take turns reading through all of the 10 tongue twisters, and then pick
the 1 that you can recite the best. Practice saying your favorite tongue twisters 3 times as fast as you can,
then your partner will take his/her turn.
Task
Write an original tongue twister. Your tongue twister must be 10 words in length, no more or less than 10
words. You may not browse the Internet to find tongue twisters; it must be an original, created by you.
You must memorize your tongue twister to say it 3 times fast in front of the class the following class
period.
Other Challenge
The other class of tongue twister, the real tongue twister, is a phrase that is so difficult to say that you
cannot say it fast (or maybe at normal speed). Say "bad blood" ten times, to see what I mean. You should
also create a tongue twister phrase that must be said 10 times really fast. Do not think this is an easier
assignment. See the phrases below for examples. This will be a credited assignment.
Try saying the following phrases 10 times fast:
•
