Student Learning Plan Unit 6: Citizenship in American History and Government The Preamble [U6C1L1] Why this is important: The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States establishes the purpose of the Constitution. It acts as a “Mission Statement” for the framers of the Constitution. In this learning plan you will analyze the Preamble to determine the goals, the beneficiaries and the responsible parties. You will also write a Preamble or Mission Statement for your role as a citizen of the United States.
