The Statewide Crop Load Project was established in 2012 as a large grower collaborative study to determine the long-term impacts of yield management on fruit composition, wine quality and vine productivity of Pinot noir. A total of 14 businesses have joined the project and implemented the experiment across 15 commercial vineyards spanning five AVAs within the Willamette Valley.
