It is the policy of Phoenix Natural Gas to encourage self-repair whenever this is feasible and practical.
Notes:
‘1’ When a recessed box needs to be replaced in its entirety the property owner must arrange for the
damaged box to be removed and replaced by their builder, at their expense.
Whilst Phoenix Natural Gas may supply a meter box (housing) at the point of connection, upon
completion it belongs to the property owner and forms part of the fabric of the building. It is
therefore the responsibility of the property owner to ensure that their meter box (housing) is
adequately maintained to ensure that our meter apparatus is not compromised. The above charges
apply only where Phoenix Natural Gas is asked to carry out repairs or to install a replacement
housing (box) on behalf of the property owner.
Where we use the term ‘Self -Repair Feasible ‘we assume that a competent person (e.g. a Gas Safe
Registered Installer) will be able to fit the replacement parts, without any assistance from Phoenix
Natural Gas. Some supplier details for ‘self-fit’ parts are detailed below. There may be others.
Replacement Lids/Covers/Doors for Customers Contemplating Self-Repair
It is important that having identified the type of box(housing) you have (from photographs on this site)
you should measure your existing lid/cover/door carefully before checking availability on one of the
sites listed. There are many different types/model of box and it is imperative that you have all the
relevant information before placing your order.
Phoenix Natural Gas has no contractual or commercial relationship with any of the suppliers listed
and any agreement made, including any financial transactions, are solely between you and the
supplier.
