Subject: Fitness For Life
Grades: 9th Semesters: Sem. 1 & 2
Unit of Study: Skill-Related Components of Fitness
Pacing-Teaching: 16 Lessons (4 weeks)
Assessment Pacing: Formative Assessment: Daily participation; record of results from all skillrelated fitness component exercises/workouts; and observations of student performance.
Summative Assessment: 2- Knowledge & Vocabulary Quiz
Essential Questions:
1. What are the skill-related fitness components of fitness?
2. Why are skill-related components of fitness important to athletes?
3. What are some examples of workouts/exercises that enhance each of the skillrelated components of fitness?
Oregon Physical Education Standards:
 Demonstrates knowledge of a variety of motor skills.

 Understand and apply physical education vocab as it relates to movement concepts.

 Understand the meaning of physical fitness and how person fitness can be improved
and maintained using a health-related fitness assessment as one tool for measuring.
