3
thought everything
(go) really
well with Emily, and I 4
(get) on

I9

Dear Marco,
I’m starting to 1
my new life at
university. It’s not like Italy! Here we have to
2
living away from home and
cooking and cleaning, whereas Italians
3
staying at home when they
study. In the UK we get a student loan from
the government to pay for our university
course. Students 4
get a grant*
to go to university, but now we have to
borrow the money and pay back the loan
when we start work. However students still
have to 5
the idea of working in
the holidays because we never have enough
money. I 6
work in a supermarket
at weekends when I was at school, so I
7
studying and working at the
same time. I’m having a great time – there are
parties and concerts every week.
