Metamorphosis: The Art of Tom Moore
Metamorphosis is the 2016 Glencore Children’s Exhibition,
and focuses on the stunning hybrid life-forms of leading
Australian glass artist Tom Moore. Moore’s menagerie of
characters combine botanical, zoological, and mechanical
elements. Drawing inspiration from “the sharp observational
wit of literary absurdists such as Edward Lear and…
Dr Seuss”, the works are simultaneously humorous and
insightful, giving us great joy, while also providing pause
for thought about the human impact on the natural world.

Every weekend of Metamorphosis is going to be action
packed with workshops, artist talks, dress-ups and games
for the whole family to enjoy. Perc Tucker Regional Gallery
will have free art workshops running from 10am to 1pm
every weekend during Metamorphosis.

Make your very own 3D artwork using glass, paper and
string which will go on display in the Gallery.

The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual
Art recognizes and promotes excellence in senior visual
art education throughout state and non-state schools in

2016 Townsville Young Artist Awards and the

Townsville’s youth during a workshop led by Sydney based
