ShepherdUniversity,astate-supportedinstitutionwithintheWestVirginiasystemof
highereducation,islocatedintheEasternPanhandleinhistoricShepherdstown,Jefferson
County.ShepherdstownandtheUniversityaresituatedonabluffoverlookingthePotomac
Riverwherethequaintcollegecommunityoffersarich,uniquelearning-living
environment,locatedwithinafewmilesofneighboringMaryland,Virginia,and
Pennsylvania.ThemetropolitanareasofWashington,D.C.,andBaltimore,MD,within70
milesoftheUniversity,providemanyculturalandcareerexperiencesforShepherd's
studentsandfaculty.
Remainingcognizantofcurrenttrendsandfuturechallenges,ShepherdUniversityworksto
achieveitsmissionbasedonstrategicplanning,assessment,andtheeffectiveandefficient
useofitsresourcestoeducateengaged,globally-awarecitizens.Enhancedstudent
