How to get onto the Internet Introduction: With the recent upgrade of our School Server the Wi-Fi Profile needs to be removed, as it is no longer being used. Please attempt the steps below to allow internet access on your personal MacBooks. Step 1 Select System Preferences – You will find this drop down menu upon clicking the apple, as shown. Step 2 Select Profiles Step 3 Press the minus sign after selecting the highlighted Southern River Wireless – This will remove it Step 4 Now go to your Wi-Fi icon and turn it off. Now select Open Network Preferences Step 5 Select Advanced. Select the Proxies Tab and then Ensure that Auto Proxy Discover is ticked. Now go to the Wi-Fi Tab and remove any preferred networks like EDUPOD, WIRELESS-2.4 or WIRELESS-5.0 Step 6 Now connect to EDUPOD, Wireless-2.4 or Wireless-5.0 accepting any certificates and allowing the Certificate Trust Setting to take place. . If all is fine you will have internet indicated by the green dot. Still having issues? If you are still having an issue after going via these 6 steps and you are still not getting an internet connection at our school, then seek assistance: (Please follow in the order given for IT Help) - Firstly see a fellow classmate who was able to get on via this procedure to go through it for you Secondly see Student Help Desk in LA40A during recess and lunchtime (Ms Cole’s IT Room) and a student can assist you. Lastly if there is still an issue leave your MacBook with Ms Cole at the Student Help Desk and an IT Network Administrator will investigate your device.
