Katie McCann Katie is currently taking part in a trainee work placement programme at the Royal Court Theatre, London. She will be working with critically acclaimed designer Chloe Lamford on The Site Project this May with writers Stacey Gregg, Nathaniel Martello-White and Theresa Ikoko. Katie is also writing a new adaptation of Cinderella for Smock Alley Theatre's in house Christmas Production 2017. The Grimm Tale of Cinderella will open on December 4th and run up until Christmas. Early April saw Katie play 'Emily Bronte' in Polly Teale's "BRONTE" which ran in Dublin's Smock Alley Boys School and also in The Mill Theatre in Dundrum. Her theatre credits as a writer and performer include "CIRQUE DES REVES" (Smock Alley Boys School/ BewleyS Cafe Theatre), "HOLLOW GROUND" (Theatre Upstairs, 2015), "TALES FROM BRIAR HALL"(Theatre Upstairs, 2014) and an original adaption of "THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL" (Theatre Upstairs, 2013). Other theatre credits include 'Steph' in TRYST, written by Finbarr Doyle and Jeda deBrí which (Tiger Dublin Fringe), 'Miss Prism' in Oscar Wilde's "THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST" (Smock Alley), "TIMON OF ATHENS" with AC Productions (New Theatre),"ROMEO & JULIET" and "OTHELLO" (2014/15 GSA SHAKESPEARE FOR SCHOOLS PROGRAMME), "A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM" with Fortunes Fool (Iveagh Gardens), "Slippers" with Sickle Moon Productions, and "SLUTS" which toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, She is currently a participant on the Rough Magic SEEDS programme. Her film and television credits include 'Louise Gavin Duffy' in Tile Films television series "SEVEN WOMEN" for RTE Television, 'Winifred Carney' in Genefile's 2015 IFTA winning historic docu-drama "CUMANN NA mBAN', and a role in Stephen Jones' comedy webseries "THE GOO".
