A SYMBOL OF REMEMBRANCE
_
Bouquet of Tulips is about the act of offering, which is represented by the outstretched
hand holding the brightly colored flowers. It was
created as a symbol of remembrance, optimism,
and healing in moving forward from the horrific
events that occurred in Paris one year ago.
Bouquet of Tulips references the hand of the
Statue of Liberty holding the torch. I wanted
to make a gesture of support and friendship
between the people of the United States and
France. The work also has a dialogue with
Pablo Picasso’s Friendship Bouquet (1958)
and his sculpture Woman with Vase (1933) in
the act of offering. You can also look at the
sculpture and think of the Impressionist flowers
of Monet or the Rococo flowers of François
Boucher or Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Flowers
are associated universally with optimism, rebirth, the vitality of nature, and the cycle of life.
They are a symbol that life goes forward

ANNE HIDALGO
MAYOR OF PARIS
_ I am very honored and deeply touched by
the gesture of Jeff Koons who, as all defenders of freedom, has wished to express in a very
personal and generous way his solidarity with
Paris and his love for this World City.
The fact that this great artist has decided to
offer to the City of Paris a monumental work
in tribute to the victims shows the unalterable
friendship and attachment between our capital
city and the United States of America.
The capital of France will therefore welcome
this iconic work Bouquet of Tulips which is intended to become part of Paris heritage, as the
Statue of Liberty is part of New York’s heritage.
Those who will accompany Jeff Koons’s
generosity will participate in the influence,
attractiveness, and beauty of Paris. We thank
them wholeheartedly for it

NOIRMONTARTPRODUCTION
_ During the twenty years that they ran their
own gallery, which was in operation from 1994
to 2013, Jérôme and Emmanuelle de Noirmont
represented and supported many French and
foreign contemporary artists, well-known internationally as well as emerging talents. They assisted them in all their projects, and particularly
in their monumental creations.
Noirmontartproduction was born in April 2015
from their will to provide an enhancement to
the contemporary artistic creation by developing a unique up-to-now approach, made
necessary by the ambitious scale of today’s
production. Thus, Noirmontartproduction manages projects, from their birth with the artist
to their full achievement, in collaboration with
the gallery or the museum, and provides expertise, financing and multiple advices (technical,
administrative, legal...).
The Noirmonts have contributed to Jeff
Koons’s recognition in France by having suc-
20 / 24
cessively organized his first solo exhibition in
Paris in 1997; produced and unveiled his monumental floral sculpture, Split-Rocker (2000) in
Avignon; and championed the exhibition Jeff
Koons Versailles in 2008. Most recently, they
collaborated with the Centre Pompidou on Jeff
Koons: A Retrospective (November 2014 - April
2015), the most comprehensive exhibition of
Koons’s work to date in France.
These twenty years of collaboration and friendship with the great American artist confer
today to Noirmontartproduction the unique expertise necessary for this project
.

FONDS POUR PARIS
_
The foundation FONDS POUR PARIS was
set up in May 2015 at the request of the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. This institution
has a totally new approach to fundraising
in France. Paris is the first local authority in
France to create a dedicated organization for
the purpose of raising capital from the private
sector for public projects. The FONDS POUR
PARIS is a private foundation, managed by a
board composed of 8 private representatives
and 5 public representatives.
OUR MISSION
The FONDS POUR PARIS is dedicated to preserving and renewing Parisian heritage through
innovative cultural projects with a strong
emphasis on contemporary art.
Knowing how culture and the renewal of heritage can promote harmony, improve quality of life and positively impact the collective
consciousness, the FONDS POUR PARIS has a
mission to raise funds for its projects financed
exclusively by the private sector, either by companies or individuals.
This double vocation, heritage and culture,
must reach beyond French borders. This is the
mission for which, the PARIS FOUNDATION
was created in the United States of America
in January 2016. This non-profit foundation
allows us to raise funds with American patrons
who benefit from tax advantages applicable in
their country
