Tucson Rodeo Days
The first La Fiesta de los Vaqueros
(Celebration of the Cowboys) in 1925
touted three days of events and
competition. Today, the event has
grown to a nine-day celebration
centered on the Tucson Rodeo, one
of the top 25 professional rodeos in
North America.
The 2017 Tucson Rodeo is February
18-26 at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds

Valentine’s Day
February is Valentine’s
Month.
Every February 14, across the
United States and in other
places around the world,
candy, flowers and gifts are
exchanged between loved
ones, all in the name of St.
Valentine.
You will find ballot boxes in
both nurse’s stations and the
Vista Activity Room. Please
cast your votes for Santa
Rita’s King & Queen.
Join us 2/14 at 3:15 for our
Valentine’s Day Party and the
crowning of the King &
Queen.

Do you like to read? Did you
know Santa Rita has a large book
shelf full of books for you to
borrow? You don’t need to sign
these books out. Come to the
Vista Activity Room, choose a
book or books and enjoy!
We also have quite a few
magazines available for you as
well.
Welcome to all of our new
resident’s, their families and
friends. If we can assist you in
any way, please don’t hesitate to
ask. We have crossword/word
search puzzle books, stationery,
decks of cards, pens, magnifiers

Join us 2/5 at 3:00 for a Super
Bowl Party in the Azalea Dining
Room. There will be snacks and
drinks to enjoy.
Name That Tune with
Marilyn
Do you have an ear for music?
February 15th at 3:15 is Name that
Tune with Marilyn. We would
love to have you come down and
guess songs with us. It’s a lot of
fun. Even if you’re not familiar
with song titles, come and enjoy
the good music. th your new hot
The third week in February is
Bird Week.
Have you noticed our beautiful
Tropical Love Birds on the front
patio?
Love birds are meant to be loved.
You can't resist falling in love
with them. This African parrot
species is becoming one of the
most favorite pets in all
households today. It reached the
United States in the late twentieth
century.
There are many varieties of love
birds, the most common being the
peach faced love bird.
Check out the aviary on the front
patio and say hello to these little
beauties.

Groundhog Day
February 2nd is groundhog day, it
is also Candlemas day. Candlemas
is a Christian festival of lights.
Groundhog day is the day the
groundhog will look to see if he
sees his shadow or not to predict a
longer winter. Candlemas also
marks the day for the middle of
winter. What do you think? Are
we in for an early Spring or six
more weeks of Winter?
I’m thinking an early Spring as
the weather has really been
beautiful lately!
