Strength Requirements
The following pages provide data for estimating jobs that meet specific
physical demands, working conditions and apptiudes from the Dictionary
of Occupational Titles. All data pertains only to that portion of the
labor market that is unskilled.
SEDENTARY WORK: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly
to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting

worker's time. Technical skills were given precedence over worker's time when necessary.
