Weddings in the Mediterranean biome
Do you dream of spending your wedding celebrations in the Med? Would you like an outdoor style
wedding ceremony but are naturally concerned about the unpredictability of the British weather? The
Mediterranean biome offers an alfresco style back drop but also prevents rain ruining the celebrations.
The complete wedding celebration can take place in the Mediterranean biome from saying ‘I do’ to
‘farewell’ at the end of the night. We offer couples exclusive use venue hire of the Mediterranean
biome between 4.30pm and 1.00am from the beginning of April until the middle of October. The
temperature within this biome is affected by the outdoor temperature so outside of these times the
biome is too chilly for you and your guests to fully enjoy the celebrations.
Please note: therefore wedding ceremonies would take place at 5.00pm and our bar and music license
is until 12.30am with carriages at 1am.
Wedding couples have the opportunity to create a bespoke plan for their wedding day with the
assistance of our event planners or alternatively you may find that one of our wedding packages may
suit you or we can tweak it accordingly for you.
The venue hire of the Mediterranean biome is £5,000.00 + Vat.
Please note: this fee is already included within our package prices.
For those of you who would like to extend their celebrations we can offer wedding ceremonies in our
Gallery, which overlooks the biomes. This enables you to have your ceremony and drinks reception
should you wish before continuing the celebrations in the Mediterranean biome from 4.30pm. The
venue hire of the Gallery for this option would be £750.00 + Vat
Venue hire includes



Venue hire of the Mediterranean biome from 4.30pm until 1am on the day of your wedding,
this includes white table linen and napkins, our standard glassware, crockery, tables and
chairs.
Please note: our bar and music license is until 12.30am and we ask for carriages at 1.00am
Our team will lay your tables with any favours or table decorations you may have and pack this
away for you at the end of the celebrations.
An assigned event planner to work with you during the planning of your special day and to be
on hand on your wedding day to ensure that all goes smoothly. We find it beneficial to have a
rehearsal with yourselves and your bridal party the day before to recap what will happen on
the day and hopefully calm any nerves.

A PA system and AV Technician is also included, allowing you to play music from an iPod for
the ceremony and drinks reception in the biome. In addition to this you are able to play back
ground music during the meal and we provide a microphone for speeches.
Please note: all musicians and DJ’s should be self-sufficient and we do not allow music to be
played via our PA system for the party.
Services of our in house floristry team are available at an additional cost.
Please note: Flowers from external sources are not allowed to be taken into the Eden Project
biomes, should you wish to have flowers our floristry team can create this for you in line with
our pest and disease controls.
Packages
We appreciate for some couples they are unsure where to start when planning a wedding and
therefore appreciate the opportunity to choose a package. Our packages are each very different,
aiming to reflect the different styles our couples choose. Each package can be tweaked to reflect you as
a couple or alternatively you can pinch ideas and create your own bespoke plan, the choice is yours.
Elope to Eden
Elopement ceremonies are becoming increasingly popular and we are always delighted to be a part of
a wedding day regardless of size. We offer couples the opportunity to ‘say I do’ in both of our biomes
with the option to choose from numerous locations which suit wedding parties of varying sizes.
You are able to choose whether you would like to begin the day with tying the knot before enjoying
breakfast here at Eden or whether you would like to end the day tying the knot before enjoying a glass
of fizz or two and some of our sumptuous canapés.

Taste of the Med
For those wanting to marry in the Med, this package offers you the opportunity to say ‘I do’ in our
Citrus Grove. Once the knot is tied the wedding party is invited to our new Australia region of the
biome for the drinks reception. During this time you can utilise the endless photo opportunities.
Once photos are complete your guests take their seat on our Med Terrace, where we offer a relaxed
Food Court Menu and speeches take place.
Before you know it you will be back in our Citrus Grove for your first dance, under the sea of stars
which illuminates the biome structure.
This package is based on 50 adults (inclusive of the happy couple) and is comprised of the following:


A glass of Pimms, fresh fruit and lemonade or a Gin and Tonic per adult. A soft drink alternative
will be available.
Our Anti Pasti boards for your guests during the drinks reception.

Australia region of the biome during the drinks reception.
Once you have utilised the endless photo opportunities, your guests can take their seat on our Med
Terrace, where they can enjoy our Anti Pasti sharing starter before experiencing the delights of our
Food Court Menu.
After dinner and speeches your guests are welcomed back to our Citrus Grove for your first dance,
under the sea of stars which illuminates the biome structure.

The Complete Eden Wedding Experience
This wedding experience allows you and your guests exclusive access to not only the Mediterranean
biome but also our Rainforest biome, the largest captive rainforest in the world.
Marry in the Med, with the gorgeous Citrus Grove back drop before the corks begin popping for the
drinks reception in ‘Australia’ where your guests will be able to enjoy Cornish sparkling wine and
delicious canapés. Guests will dine in our Mediterranean Terrace before exploring the Rainforest with
our super fruit Baobab cocktail. After your guests have been wowed by the Rainforest they will return
to our Citrus Grove to dance the night away under the sea of stars which illuminates the biome.
