BCDA 2017 Initiative - Reimagine Aging
When you think of aging, what does it look like? The media often portrays it as a
negative experience, but we know better! Join the Baltimore County Department of
Aging as we challenge the stereotypes of getting older and celebrate our later years
with the “Reimagine Aging” Initiative. In 2017, we will encourage individuals of all
ages to discuss the perceived limitations placed on older adults and their ability to live
to their fullest potential. We will highlight individuals in our community who are
making a difference as they age and offer resources to grow older successfully! Spot
programs related to the initiative easily! They have a lightning bolt next to them.

Older American’s Month
May is Older American’s Month and the theme is “Age Out Loud”. This theme shines a
light on many important trends. More than ever before, older Americans are working
longer, trying new things, and engaging in their communities. They’re taking charge,
striving for wellness, focusing on independence, and advocating for themselves and
others. What it means to age has changed, and OAM 2017 is a perfect opportunity to
recognize and celebrate what getting older looks like today. Let’s amplify the many
voices of older Americans and raise awareness of vital aging issues across the country.
Join us as we speak up and out loud for OAM! Check out all of Ateaze Senior Center’s
fun programs because to us, we celebrate Senior Center Month every month.
