September2016 3 MusicDepartmentNews TheTTCSBandsaregettingverymusical!6thgradebandisalreadyworkingonnewmusic.The 5thgradebandisexcitedtobegettingtheirinstrumentsandlearninghowtoplayforthefirst time.Ifyourchildisinband,parentsshouldreviewthesupplylistandbuytheEssential Elementsbookwiththegoldstripeacrossthetop.The3rdand4thgradeRecorderEnsembles arealsounderwayandlearningtheirfirstnewsongs. NewthisyearistheJazzEnsemble,withtopplayersfromthe6thgradeband,playingvarious stylesofswing,blues,andbebop.TheDramaWorkshopisworkingonaneworiginalscript aboutbullyinginschools,whichwillbepresentedattheWinterconcert. 5thgradewillbestudyingguitarthisFall,startingthisweek.Later,inOctober3rdgradewillbe beginningrecorderstudies.
