Welcome
The AJT Football and Cheer Board of Directors would like to welcome all
participants to the 2017 season. We hope that this season will be exciting
and rewarding to all those involved. The AJT program is beginning its 12th
year and we hope to continue in our strong tradition of excellence and
success. As a member of SACRAMENTO YOUTH FOOTBALL (SYF), our
goal is to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only
the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of
education, sportsmanship and teamwork in an atmosphere beneficial to
developing sound mind, body and character, while also having fun. Safety is
our primary concern. Many of the exercises, drills, and team rules are there
to ensure your child is physically and mentally fit for football and
cheerleading. Each child is unique and will develop at their own pace. We
hope that this season will help your child develop new skills and confidence.
As the 2017 season progresses, you may feel free to contact an AJT Board
Member, call the Titan line or check the AJT website at
www.antelopejrtitans.com. Every effort will be made to provide you with the
information needed.
AJT Mission Statement
The mission of The Antelope Jr. Titans Youth Football & Cheer Association is to
foster the development of young boys and girls into the leaders of tomorrow through
teamwork, respect, integrity and professionalism.
Beliefs
The Jr. Titans believe that each of us can make a difference where we live and how
we live. We will create a family atmosphere between coaches and players, "and
teach our youth how to work together toward a common goal of representing the
Antelope community in a positive way." We will do our very best to provide this
community with a program that can be the pride of Antelope.
A Word From Coach Ray At Antelope High School
There is one thing every small town to every large city has in common on Friday Nights:
It is the one time a community can come out as one under the lights to cheer on their local high school
football team taking on an opponent on the gridiron that is called a football field. Antelope has been able
to experience this excitement within the confines of Titans Stadium for the past four years. In a short
amount of time, the Titans have enjoyed success never experienced by such a young team: 2010 all three
levels were Capital Athletic League Champions. The Frosh squad was able to repeat that feat in 2011.
The Varsity squad has been in the playoffs every year since 2010 and in the San Joaquin D-II Section
Playoffs 3rd round for the past two seasons. Antelope High School is on the rise with back-to-back CVC
Championships and a perfect 10-0 record each the past two seasons. We are off to a great start and I
want to keep the momentum going for years to come! I have worked extra hard to build this foundation for
the Titans Football Program within Antelope High School and it is now time to reach out to the community
to make sure it is a community mainstay with mutual support. Our first project is to integrate our Antelope
Junior Titans and create a true feeder program. I want to create uniformity of the TITAN philosophy; in the
way we coach, win, lose, and treat our fellow community members. This will allow for the youth to
understand early on what the expectations will always be and I will rely on the junior program to instill the
high school football philosophy. The main goal is for each player to be a TITAN…from beginning to end,
the same TITAN way of playing and behaving every year. To make this a reality, I will have a dedicated
high school coach be the liaison between the two programs to help assist in anything AJT needs. Along
with this, the AJT staff and the high school staff will join up for clinics and coaching instructions which will
ensure that each AJT coach will be held to the same standards that I hold my coaches to at the Antelope
High School. It is crucial that the two programs support each other on and off the field; players, coaches,
and parents. Rest assured, if you choose to sign up your child to play with AJT, he will be enveloped in
the support and understanding of what it means to be a TITAN. I am very excited about the direction of
Titans Football. I am confident with the support of the community and the uniformity within AJT, success is
inevitable for our program. I look forward to seeing you all throughout the year and in the stands for the
excitement of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!

responsible for the AJT organization. Your deposits will be RETURNED WITHIN 30 DAYS of the AJT

We will be accepting credit card, debit card, and cash for the $150 buy-out of hours. This money will go
towards funding the hours needed to provide your children with a great game day experience. If you
would like to donate your time we will be accepting deposits in the amount of $200 to secure your hours.
Checks will only be allowed for Volunteer hours and Equipment.
3. Practice Start Date/ Time / Location
July 31st is the official start date for the SYF. Practice will start at promptly at 6:00PM and will end at
8:00PM as our days get shorter with light we may have to adjust the practice times. It is possible for
practice to start at 5:00 if needed. Our practice location is __________________________. Once we
secure an indoor facility Cheer will move indoors as weather permits. If you drop your child off at practice,
it is very important you are back to pick them up before the end of practice. Please respect the AJT
coaches and staff, we all have families and would like to be home as well. All practices will be on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, and a walkthrough on Thursday (if time allows). Once the season begins (the week
of the first game) there will be NO PRACTICE, FILM, OR WALKTHROUGHS allowed on Friday. We
encourage all players, parents, coaches, board members, and families to attend Antelope High School on
Friday night during home games. Please do not drop off your children at the High School games in hopes
of a coach or board member watching them. Your child must attend with a parent or guardian. AJT will not
be responsible for the well-being on your children if they are left unattended.
4. Missed Practice
If your child has to miss practice for any reason please notify your Head Coach. Any player that misses
one (1) of practice may miss a portion of that week’s game or the whole game; this decision will be made
by the coaching staff.
5. Refunds
Other than roster cuts & safety risks AJT will not issue refunds, for any reason. For the 2017
season we will only issue refunds to any participant we have to cut do to roster size or due to safety risk.
We will not take the request of a parent on any safety concerns. AJT Staff and Board are fully qualified to
make an outside decision. If your child is released from AJT due to being cut for safety, there will be a
refund issued. The refund will be issued within 3 weeks after the return of all equipment. All refunds
issued due to cuts will be paid in full subtracting a $25.00 processing fee.
6. Parent Volunteer Hours
Because AJT is a non-profit volunteer-run organization, we need parents to volunteer at least 10 hours
per child, per season. Your volunteer hours will assist with the many responsibilities of running the
organization! We cannot guarantee you will be exempt from volunteering during your child’s game. We will
do our very best to have you work your hours either before or after your child’s game. Parents are
required to provide a $200.00 deposit towards their parent volunteer hours. This deposit is fully refundable
when all required hours are completed. Failure to complete your minimum of 10 required hours would
result in your deposit being kept by AJT. If you, as a parent or guardian, do not show up when scheduled,
show up late, and or fail to perform your volunteer duties it may result in a “no hours worked” mark and
your deposit may not be refunded. Please do your part as a parent; we are a volunteer organization. If you
send someone to volunteer in your place, they must be at least 16 years of age.
7. Team Parents
Team Parents will be our main source of communications to all participating families. Your Team Parent
will help schedule all volunteer hours, give team reminders, communicate all information from your
coaching staff, help set up the team party and assist with issuing and/or collecting for all AJT fundraisers
or events. It is important as parents you meet your Team Parent face to face. Please respect them in their
communications; they are parents just like you that have stepped up to volunteer for your child’s team.
8. Coaches Expectations
1. Coaches will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players,
cheerleaders, families, and officials at every game, practice, or other youth sporting events.
2. Coaches will place the emotional and physical wellbeing of your child ahead of their personal desire to
win.
3. Coaches will insist that all AJT participants play in a safe and healthy environment.
4. Coaches will be required to hold to the coach’s code of conduct, known as our Code of Ethics.
5. Coaches will support officials working with your child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable
experience for all.
6. AJT will demand a sports environment for all participants to be drug, tobacco and alcohol free and
refrain from use at any youth sporting event.
7. Coaches will remember the game is for youth – not adults.
8. Coaches will do their very best to make youth sports fun for all participants.
9. Participants Responsibility
The participants of AJT are expected to abide by a code of conduct, which includes but is not limited to
the following.
1. Respect volunteer Coaches, Board members, Team members, Opponents, Officials, and other
representatives involved with the AJT program.
2. Participants must take proper care of the equipment that is issued and used by them. Immediately notify
a coach if your equipment becomes damaged.
3. Participants must notify their coaches in advance if a practice is going to be missed. No exceptions.
4. Good sportsmanship is mandatory. No vulgar language, tantrums, displays of anger or fighting will be
tolerated. Any such actions will result in disciplinary measures which may include suspension and
expulsion from the team.
5. As a member of AJT you respect yourself and your teammates both on and off the field. Whether in
victory or defeat you will conduct yourself with pride and poise.
6. If a player is removed from a team for disciplinary actions, all equipment is to be turned in immediately
after the decision is finalized by the Executive Board and all deposits will be forfeited.
6. Always be willing to help your coach or teammate when required. The AJT program is for you!
10. Parents Responsibility
The level of support given to a participant by the parents will have a measured impact as to the success of
each child. To better understand the parents’ role and involvement in the program, we have developed the
following guidelines:
1. Parents and visitors at practices, games and/or cheer competitions must stay in designated areas
reserved for the spectators. Sideline areas, practice fields and locker rooms are off limits.
2. Parents are encouraged to cheer for their teams from the stands with enthusiasm but should never yell
obscenities or derogatory remarks aimed at the opponents or conduct themselves in an offensive manner.
As a result of such action, a team can be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct and the spectator may
be removed from the grounds.
3. A number of people are needed to help the program run smoothly. Parents should be ready and willing
to donate a minimum of 10 hours of their time during the season to assist the program run smoothly.
4. It is the parents’ responsibility to provide transportation to and from practice, games, and other
association functions.
5. If a participant’s grades fall below a “C” average or homework starts to become a problem, the parents
should notify the coach and together determine the best course of actions to be taken.
6. Parents should always maintain a cooperative attitude towards coaches, participants, Officials and
Board Members. Remember, we are all Volunteers.
7. If you are confronted by a member of the AJT staff and fail to comply with the code of conduct you may
be immediately removed. If you are removed for any reason you may be called upon to have a meeting
with the Executive Board to discuss further attendance at games and or practice. Further failures to
comply with the Executive Board’s guidelines for code of conduct could result in your child being removed
from AJT and all deposits to may be forfeited.
11. Football Dress Code
During all activities players are to wear their spirit pack shorts and shirt given to them at the start of the
season. If directed to wear full gear, players are to come to practice ready to participate in full pads
assigned to them by AJT, this includes helmet, shoulder pads, practice shirt, practice pants, and a mouth
guard (cleats and socks are the family’s responsibility.) Players should bring a full water bottle/jug to each
practice. More water may be needed on hotter practice days.
12. Football Equipment
AJT will provide all necessary equipment (with the exception of shoes and practice socks or personal-type
pads and equipment). Game socks are to be worn only on game days.
13. Player Allotment Rule (PAR)
There is NO PAR in the SYF. The SYF has set rules according to the NFHS (National Federation of High
School). AJT and the coaching staffs will make every effort to play every child at every game, but there
are no guarantees on the amount of plays or playing time.
14. Tryouts for Football
Pursuant to SYF rules, each team has no maximum on roster spots. However, in the fairness of play, AJT
will be trying to limiting its roster sizes to 35 players. If there are more than 35 on any given roster at the
end of the second week of practice, it may be necessary to cut down to the player limit. The decision to
remove any player from the roster will be made jointly by the coaching staff and the Executive Board. As a
parent or guardian you may be given a chance to keep your child on the team as a “practice” player. Your
child be at every practice suited up and learning the game of football but they will not dress for or
participate in any games until there is an open position and they skill level improves. The association will
make every effort to place each child on a team to allow them to participate.
15. Cheer Dress Code
Cheerleaders should wear loose fitting shorts or sweats and tops to practice. NO PJ Bottoms! Sleeveless
tops are permitted if the straps are at least two inches wide. No jeans or nylons. No clothing with buttons,
pockets, zippers or hoods. Sneakers with shoelaces and socks must be worn. NO make-up is allowed at

information for the past game; Practice times (when they start to change),which team won, any players of
the game, some game stats, etc... On Wednesday all families will receive an email informing them of the
upcoming game and all information pertaining to that event. We will do our best every week to keep you
updated on all AJT activities and information. If you do not get a newsletter for some reason, please
contact your Team Parent so we can update your contact information. If you do not receive email at all
and want a paper announcement every week, communicate this to your Team Parent.
17. Game Film
You may film your child’s game from the stands. AJT will not be filming any games from a press box.
18. Game Day
Game Day can be very exciting! Each player needs to arrive at the game site no later than 1½ hours prior
to the scheduled game time. Cheerleaders must arrive at the game site no later than 1 hour prior to
scheduled game time. *AJT supports AHS football program and encourages our players and families to
attend their home games. All AJT players and families will be charged at the front gate. The gate fee
supports the students of AHS for their activities, dances and proms. AHS football program and boosters
are not able to give free access to the AJT families.
19. 24 Hour Rule
Youth sports can be an emotional experience. The physical activity of the kids can often spill onto the
sidelines and into the stands and create strong reactions in coaches and parents. For parents, it is
important to separate their child's sports development from game emotions. For this reason, AJT has
adopted the "24 Hour Rule" which simply states that coaches will not discuss a game or situation until at
least 24 hours after the fact. This important rule does two things. First, it moves the discussion away from
the presence of the players. Second, it allows all parties to have time to put things in perspective and
"cool off", if necessary. Also, coaches will NOT discuss another player’s playing time, during any
discussion the only athlete that will be talked about will be your own.
20. Smoking, Drugs & Alcohol
Drugs, Alcohol or Tobacco use is strictly forbidden at games, practices and other associated events and
will not be tolerated. Anyone involved in such activities will be asked to leave the premises and the
authorities may be contacted. There is to be no smoking allowed in or around the parks at which AJT is
participating. Smoking anywhere on the High School grounds during AJT games or high school games will
not be tolerated.
21. Health Insurance
Your family’s health insurance will serve as the primary care coverage for the participant. In the event you
do not have health insurance, AJT has purchased secondary coverage with a $100.00 deductible to be
paid by the parents or guardian of the participant.
22. Injuries
The AJT coaching staffs and AJT board members will not make medical determinations involving your
children. We will, to the best of our ability, keep your children safe and in the event of an injury the
persons on these forms will be contacted as well as an ambulance if deemed necessary. During home
games AJT will provide persons trained in CPR & First Aid. Any football or cheer related injury, regardless
of outward appearances, is taken seriously and will be addressed as such. Safety is our primary concern
and extra care will be taken in dealing with any reported injury. We would also encourage participants to
be made known any injury to his/her coach immediately upon occurrence. Participants should not hide
injuries in order to facilitate more playing time. Any player sustaining an injury requiring a doctor’s care,
will be required to provide a medical release from the same doctor prior to further participation in
practices, games, or competition.
23. Complaints
All complaints must be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors. All written complaints will only be
accepted by email or the postal mail service. AJT’s address is: 7909 Walerga Rd. Ste #112, P.O. Box

after submission of the complaint. A written response will be forwarded to the complainant after the next
regular board meeting. If you have comments or suggestions, please submit those in writing to the Board
as well. All of our director board meetings are open to everyone who would like to attend. If your complaint
is of the utmost importance you have the right to ask for an emergency meeting of the Executive Board, if
granted we will need your complaint in writing prior to our meeting.
24. Forms of Payment
We will NOT be accepting checks as forms of payment for deposits. AJT has endured numerous fees
associated with checks over the past ten (10) years. We will only be accepting cash, Credit Cards, and
Debit Cards for registration fees. All deposits can be in the form of a check, unless you are doing the “buyout” program in which case you will need to complete that payment before your child will be given any
equipment.
25. Bylaws
AJT bylaws are the rules in which we operate. These bylaws explain all necessary information including
what constitutes an AJT member. The Antelope Jr. Titans organization urges everyone to read a copy of
our bylaws in order to gain a better understanding of how we operate. AJT will hold firm on all rules in our
bylaws.

phone, cell phone and/or email, please be sure to update it with our Registrar as soon as possible:

non-profit organization all donations and sponsors will go toward the good of the AJT organization, to run
successfully.
28. Fundraising
AJT is a volunteer ran organization that depends on fundraising to keep our equipment safe for your
children and to help run the organization. There is no mandatory fundraiser but there will be fundraising

29. Parents area during practice
All parents are to remain off the practice field at all times unless called over by a member of your child’s
Coaching Staff. We carry insurance to cover your child in the event of an injury. Our coverage does not
include parents. Please be respectful to the AJT organization and stay in the designated parents seating
area. Please make sure all siblings and dogs are off the practice field as well. Please park your vehicles in
accordance to state and county code, AJT is not responsible if you are given a parking ticket or are towed.
30. Inhalers
If your child needs an inhaler for any reason, it is very important that you place it in a Ziploc bag with your
child’s name on the bag. Inhalers should remain in their football bag at all times. If your child does not
have their inhaler at practice they will not be able to participate.
31. Family Pets
Dogs must be on a leash at all times when at the practice facility. If you choose to bring your dog out to
the practice field it is required you bring plastic bags to clean up their mess. It is your responsibility to
clean up after your dog. Dogs with aggressive behavior towards adults, children, and/or other dogs are
not permitted to be at the practice field. If, as an owner, you cannot control your dog and its droppings you
will be asked to take them home and they will not be permitted back to the park during practice. NO
ANIMALS are permitted at any games, home or away. The Schools do not permit any animal on their
property. If you bring one with you, you will be asked to leave. If your animal is a service animal you must
get permission from the school.
32. Preseason Communication
The majority of communication during preseason is done by email. If you do not receive emails and would
like all the preseason announcements, contact the AJT secretary as soon as possible at:
[email protected]
33. AJT Staff
All AJT Staff (board members, directors, and coaches) have to complete and pass a background check. If
you do not pass the background check you will not be permitted to have a badge for game days and you

Executive Board.
36. AJT SOCIAL NETWORKING AGREEMENT
In an effort to foster good sportsmanship and develop young men and women of character, Antelope Jr.
Titans (AJT) recommends the following guidelines as best practices for the use of social media by AJT
athletes. For the purposes of these guidelines, social media means any form of electronic communication
through which users create on-line communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and
other content through such social networking sites as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and
YouTube. AJT respects the right of its athletes to use social media. However, it is important for the
athletes to understand the need to exercise care in setting appropriate boundaries between their personal
and public online behavior and to understand that what may seem private in the digital world can often
become public, without knowledge or consent. These guidelines are intended to provide a framework for
AJT athletes to conduct themselves safely and responsibly in an online environment. As an AJT athlete it
is expected that you will avoid:
Posting confidential information. Be aware of the kind of information you are posting such as your
address, phone number, class schedule, social security number, etc.
Creating unprofessional public profiles. Any information you put on social media sites is considered
public information and may be viewed by members of the public. Be mindful of the image you create for
yourself online. Future employers, college admissions recruiters, and more may access the information
you put on social media sites.
Posting illegal activities or other incriminating photos.
Bullying and/or threats of violence. While AJT athletes have a right to free speech, that right is not
unlimited.
Inappropriate and/or demeaning language. The following online actions are considered to be
substantially disruptive to the school environment;
-Lewd, vulgar, or offensive language.
-Advocating violence or illegal activity and therefore subject to appropriate discipline.
-Teammates, coaches, staff, athletes from other programs, etc. that post or “like” other inappropriate
behaviors that pose a serious danger to the safety of another person or making a credible threat of
serious physical or emotional injury to another person.
-Bullying and/or harassing another teammate or staff member or comments or photos on any social
networking site indicates your approval of such comments and thereby holds you to the same standard.
-tweeting” or “Favoriting” on Twitter also indicates your approval of inappropriate comments and thereby
holds you to the same standard.
It is the expectation as an AJT athlete that you will represent our organization in the best possible manner.
Furthermore, you will continue to uphold the high standards and character that is expected of all our
athletes. Failure to comply with any of the rules in part on in whole may be grounds for immediate removal
from the AJT program and no refunds will be given. By signing any of these documents you acknowledge
all of the rules, regulations, by-laws, and codes of conduct associated with AJT, the SYF, and its other
members.
