into retreat beforehand, smoked upon the matter, and bestowed Blackfeet names on 2008 and 2009 Chief 10
Bears recipients. The names in the Blackfeet language are a personal matter. In English they are:

Chief 10 Bears: Jim Grindley and Dennis
Clute completed their 20th Le Grizz runs and earned
the rank of Chief.
10 Bears: Larry Vandenburg, Murray Barker
and Bob Johnson completed their 10th Le Grizz runs
and were awarded lumber that tells time.
10 Cubs: Tom Torpen provided course patrol
services for the 10th time and was awarded a scaleddown 10 Bears clock.
Universal Healthcare Award: Fred Robinson
had to drop out due to an uncooperative hamstring.
The caption under a skull on his plaque read, “I was
put down by a death panel at Le Grizz.”
Obama Nobel Peace Prize Award: Mark Tarr
retired early on to avoid damaging a sore knee. The
caption under a bust medallion dangling from a loose
screw read, “I did nothing at Le Grizz.”
