PRAISE
The Call to Worship
Psalm 118:28-29
You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!
The Prayer of Invocation and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever, Amen.

The Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
RENEWAL
The Call to RenewalRomans 3: 9-12, 23-24
What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged
that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, as it is written: “None is righteous, no,
not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together
they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as
a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Prayerful Meditation on God's Grace
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and
to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon your church the abundance
of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving
us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits
and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Hymn of Renewal Whate’er My God Ordains is Right
Whate’er my God ordains is right:
His holy will abideth;
I will be still whate’er he doth;
And follow where he guideth.
He is my God: though dark my road.
He holds me that I shall not fall.
And so to him I leave it all,
He holds me that I shall not fall.
Whate’er my God ordains is right:
He never will deceive me.
He leads me by the proper path;
I know he will not leave me.
I take, content, what he hath sent.
His hand can turn my griefs away,
And patiently I wait his day,
His hand can turn my griefs away.
Whate’er my God ordains is right,
Though now this cup, in drinking,
May bitter seem to my faint heart,
I take it all, unshrinking.
My God is true; each morn anew.
Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart,
And pain and sorrow shall depart,
Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart.
Whate’er my God ordains is right.
Here shall my stand be taken.
Though sorrow, need, or death be mine,
Yet am I not forsaken.
My Father’s care is round me there.
He holds me that I shall not fall,
And so to him I leave it all,
He holds me that I shall not fall.

COMMITMENT
The Reading of Holy Scripture
2 Timothy 1:8-10 Pew Bible p. 645
So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather,
join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 9 He has saved us and
called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own
purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of
time, 10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,
who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the
gospel.

The Giving of Our Tithes and Offerings*
The offering is a way for Christians to support the mission and ministry of the church. Christians offer
a sacrificial portion of their resources – time, talents, possessions – as an act of faith and gratitude in
response to God’s grace. The giving of our tithes and offerings is a part of our worship service as an
opportunity for the regular, proportionate and generous sharing of the resources God has given us.
*Online giving is also available at skyviewpca.org/giving.
