Dear Children,
Here is a “Summer Vacation Activity Treasure Box” just for you. It will surely mould you for a better
and successful forthcoming year. So get ready for your treasure hunt.
Note:
1.All written work to be done in a scrap book.
2.Encourage your children to do the activities themselves Students own work will be appreciated.
Healthy ‘Friendship’ with Summer Fruits and Vegetables!
a. Design a card for your best friend inviting him/her to spend a day in your house.
What you will need:
a.A-4 size sheet, Vegetables like ladyfinger, onion potatoes etc. water colours paint brush and decoration items.
b. Now, draw or paste pictures of various fruits and vegetables to form five different Patterns in your scrapbook.
c. Write five lines about your favourite fruit. Draw or paste its picture in the scrapbook.

b. Go for a walk in a nearby park with your grandparents and you will realize that you have
been blessed with two of God’s greatest gifts.....Nature and family Now, with the help of your grandfather learn to
grow a plant from the seed you pick .Have fun watching the seed grow into a seedling.
What you need to do:
Fill the container with soil, Plant the seeds inside the soil, Put the container in a warm place
Keep the soil moist by watering it everyday
After a week’s time this seed that you have planted and cared for will develop into a tiny plant called
seedling. Continue to look after your seedling and monitor its growth. Children will bring the plant to school.
Let Us Build Our Vocabulary- As you enjoy your walk through the garden, discover the magic of your five
senses. Now, paste at least two pictures each and write the names for the things in the scrap book,

Sorting and Ordering
What you need todo :
Collect 5 to 6 types of seeds that you can find in the kitchen or in the garden/park,Wrap them in a transparent
sheet, Arrange these seeds in order of smallest to largest on an A-4 size sheet of paper.

Shape Mania
a. Moon Game
This summer vacation take out some time to observe the night sky. Try and do it every night. You will see the moon
changing its shape after every few days. Based on your observation, identify different shapes of the moon. Cut the
different shapes of the moon . Paste the Moon. Write the names of these shapes.
You can take the help of your parents for cutting the different shapes of the moon
b. Draw and colour the four basic shapes (square, rectangle, triangle, circle) in the scrap book. Think of objects
related to these shapes for example, circle–football, square–photo frame etc. Now, find pictures of such objects
with different shapes from old magazines and news papers. Paste these pictures in front of each basic shape
that you have drawn in your scrap book.
c. Build your vocabulary-Write the names of these objects that you have pasted against each basic shape.

Let make learning fun
Learn to take care of yourself and be safe
Do not play with sharp objects. Use scissors for your homework in presence of elders.
Keep your toys neatly in their proper place so that no one trips over them. Learn to tie your shoe laces so
that you do not fall by tripping over them.
Learn to be responsible and help your mother in chores like—
keeping things in proper places, looking after your younger brother or sister, setting the dining table and
putting away the utensils, watering the plants, dusting and cleaning your own room

During your vacations. You will have a list of more than 50 words in your vocabulary bank. Write these words in
