.. With this letter, I would kindly like to introduce my candidature as
an undergraduate student, who is applying for the Hessen-Queensland program.
Besides my activity as a student of law in the fifth semester at the Wolfgang Goethe
University I also work as a working student for one of the world's leading airlines. I soon
realized of what particular importance it is to have basic knowledge of the English language
because most of the communication within the firm is in English.
During my studies I participated in the annual commercial arbitration Moot-Court in Vienna
and represented the University of Frankfurt at the oral proceedings compared to 330 other
University's from all over the world. Thereby, I realized that because of transnational
business a conflict with different legal systems is unavoidable. Therefore, a semester in
Australia would give me the chance to have an insight in a different legal system compared to
the one that exists in Germany and i also would appreciate to get the possibility to receive
new impressions for my personal development with the aim to learn more about the
Australian common law and how it is practiced.
Furthermore, a semester abroad would give me on the one hand the opportunity to improve
my English and on the other hand it would offer me the possibility to get a c10se insight in the
Australian culture, which will certainly be helpful for my future career. In recent years it has
become of great importance to gather experience in a foreign country, especially in an English
speaking country, because English still represents the most spoken language in times of
globaiization. Beyond that, I would like to highlight that I would appreciate, if there would be
the opportunity given to spend even two semesters in Austra1ia.
Moreover, I am absolutely confideot and believe that I could implement my experience and
knowledge, which I would obtain during my studies abroad. In my opinion this would not
only bring advantages for my scientific law studies, but also for Germany, and specially for
Hessen which is one of the German's 1eading business region, for instance, in banking aod
financial services international business relations are common nowadays.

I see myself as a very open-minded person with a high perseverance level and cunous
personality who is always looking forward to meet new people and their culture. As
mentioned above, a stay in Australia would represent a great enrichment for my personal and
professional qualification. I would be glad to get a chance to study in Australia because I am
very convinced that studying at an Australian University would broaden my mind and open
new perspectives on the matter oflaw.
